umhb ot: Electromagnetic wave theory of photons SHUANG-REN ZHAO, During the author's graduate studies in electromagnetic waves at Xidian University (China) in 1987, He published the electromagnetic field mutual energy theorem. Later, the author worked in medical imaging in Germany, Canada, and the United States. 30 years later, the author discovered this theorem, not only the energy theorem, but also the law of conservation of energy. And further discovered the law of mutual energy flow. And it was found that the mutual energy flow has the shape of photon, with sharp particles at both ends and coarse waves in the middle. Strangely, Maxwell's equation cannot prove this law of energy conservation! As a result, the author discovered a loophole in Maxwell's electromagnetic theory. The author fills the gap in Maxwell's electromagnetic theory by proposing a new electromagnetic axiom that radiation does not overflow into the universe. Thus, a classical electromagnetic theory that can include photons was established. Successfully solved wave particle duality problems such as wave collapse.

umhb ot: Redesigning America’s Community Colleges Thomas R. Bailey, Shanna Smith Jaggars, Davis Jenkins, 2015-04-09 In the United States, 1,200 community colleges enroll over ten million students each year—nearly half of the nation’s undergraduates. Yet fewer than 40 percent of entrants complete an undergraduate degree within six years. This fact has put pressure on community colleges to improve academic outcomes for their students. Redesigning America’s Community Colleges is a concise, evidence-based guide for educational leaders whose institutions typically receive short shrift in academic and policy discussions. It makes a compelling case that two-year colleges can substantially increase their rates of student success, if they are willing to rethink the ways in which they organize programs of study, support services, and instruction. Community colleges were originally designed to expand college enrollments at low cost, not to maximize completion of high-quality programs of study. The result was a cafeteria-style model in which students pick courses from a bewildering array of choices, with little guidance. The authors urge administrators and faculty to reject this traditional model in favor of “guided pathways”—clearer, more educationally coherent programs of study that simplify students’ choices without limiting their options and that enable them to complete credentials and advance to further education and the labor market more quickly and at less cost. Distilling a wealth of data amassed from the Community College Research Center (Teachers College, Columbia University), Redesigning America’s Community Colleges offers a fundamental redesign of the way two-year colleges operate, stressing the integration of services and instruction into more clearly structured programs of study that support every student’s goals.

umhb ot: Cognitive Flexibility Evelyne Clement, 2022-02-15 Cognitive flexibility is the cornerstone of learning and enables us to cope with a constantly changing environment. By adapting our knowledge and habits in order to respond to new situations, cognitive flexibility plays a fundamental role in learning. This book proposes a study of the fundamental notions of cognitive flexibility: its measurement and development, its links with metacognition and critical thinking and the role of context in its expression, as well as its involvement in discovering solutions, transferring knowledge and processing analogies. Convergent perspectives are also presented in order to paint a clear picture of cognitive flexibility and to discuss the issues at stake. Thanks to the combined views of specialists in cognitive and developmental psychology, Cognitive Flexibility suggests new educational possibilities based on the results of empirical work on the subject.

umhb ot: What Excellent Community Colleges Do Joshua S. Wyner, 2019-01-02 In What Excellent Community Colleges Do, Joshua S. Wyner draws on the insights and evidence gained in administering the inaugural Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence. This book identifies four domains of excellence—degree completion, equity, student learning, and labor market success—and describes in rich detail the policies and practices that have allowed some community colleges to succeed in these domains. By starting with a holistic definition of excellence, measuring success against that definition, and then identifying practices and policies that align with high levels of student success, the author seeks to contribute to the growing body of knowledge about improving student success in community colleges.
