Book one covers the abduction of the children, their development, their escape and the fight to stop the plans of the men who stole them. It includes government involvement and conspiracy, international security and the developing relationships of the people involved. It is written in three parts. The first, with the children up to their abduction at age 9. The second begins 5 years later as the children escape. The third is the battle to stop the cult leader and destroy his plans to hijack the election of the first One World President |

The author describes the encounters between working- and middle-class women and how the women's center attempts to negotiate the pressures of feminism and professionalization. Murdock depicts the frailty and complexity of cross-class organizing and the ways that this process may be threatened by professionalized NGO styles. |
