slow retarded: Carbonate Reservoir Characterization: A Geologic-Engineering Analysis, Part I G.C. Dominguez, F. Samaniego V., 1992-01-17 This book integrates those critical geologic aspects of reservoir formation and occurrence with engineering aspects of reservoirs, and presents a comprehensive treatment of the geometry, porosity and permeability evolution, and producing characteristics of carbonate reservoirs. The three major themes discussed are: • the geometry of carbonate reservoirs and relationship to original depositional facies distributions • the origin and types of porosity and permeability systems in carbonate reservoirs and their relationship to post-depositional diagenesis • the relationship between depositional and diagenetic facies and producing characteristics of carbonate reservoirs, and the synergistic geologic-engineering approach to the exploitation of carbonate reservoirs. The intention of the volume is to fully aquaint professional petroleum geologists and engineers with an integrated geologic and engineering approach to the subject. As such, it presents a unique critical appraisal of the complex parameters that affect the recovery of hydrocarbon resources from carbonate rocks. The book may also be used as a text in petroleum geology and engineering courses at the advanced undergraduate and graduate levels. |

slow retarded: Clinical and Abnormal Psychology John Edward Wallace Wallin, 1927 This book is based on a course of lectures delivered, since 1912, in over a half-dozen universities and schools of education. It is the outgrowth of more than seventeen years of labor, in several states, devoted to mentally, educationally, and socially abnormal children. This work has included the individual examination of seven thousand cases, the organization and administration of systems of developmental and reconstructive training, and the perusal of the avalanche of books and articles which have appeared during this period in the highly productive field of psychological and educational tests and mental hygiene, and in cognate fields. The book aims to give a fairly adequate picture of the inner mechanism of the psychological and psychoeducational clinic, and to touch incidentally upon various topics in abnormal psychology with which the clinical psychologist, mental and educational tester, special-class teacher, visiting teacher, social worker, medical student preparing for work in mental hygiene, and others interested in abnormal-behavior problems should be familiar. A comprehensive survey, in spite of necessary brevity, will furnish orientation and perspective, show the relationship between topics, and supply the essential groundwork for further study. This book will serve its purpose if it succeeds in opening up the field for the general reader, and in supplying a broad foundation of facts, procedures, and principles on which the technical worker may build. slow retarded: Plant Growth Substances 1970 D. J. Carr, 2012-12-06 At the 6th International Conference on Plant Growth Substances, held in Carleton University, Ottawa in 1968, it was decided that the 7th should be held in Czecho slovakia, following an invitation by Dr. Kutacek. Historical events intervened and in 1969 another venue was sought. An offer from the Academy of Science in Canberra was accepted by the steering committee. This left rather less time than is desirable to organize an international meeting of this nature and it was with surprise and great relief that the Organizing Committee in Canberra welcomed the arrival of 183 delegates, including a relatively large overseas contingent, to the meeting in December, 1970. The aim of these Conferences is, of course, to provide a forum for discussion of new work and recent trends, both in the lecture sessions and in conversation. Although many of those who initiated these meetings (e.g. Skoog, Went, Blackman, Bennet-Clark) were absent from the Canberra conference - some have retired -it was good to see present so many of the new generation of research workers in this field. |

slow retarded: Chinese Acupuncture Georges Soulié de Morant, 1994 Soulie de Morant's masterpiece is the most detailed study of acupuncture available in a Western language. It was nominated for a Nobel prize and provided the foundation for French acupuncture. This text is divided into 5 parts: the energetics of acupuncture, the application of the energetics, physiology, meridians and points, and treatment. This book is a unique historical document, but more than this, it is the most practical of texts and has already served a generation of clinicians well. |
