roman catholic church 666: End Times Prophecies a Catholic Perspective Michael Freze, 2016-03-01 FROM A BESTSELLING AUTHOR and recognized scholar. A Catholic perspective on end times prophecies. Includes end time Bible prophecy on the chastisement, three days darkness, the tribulation, the Antichrist, and the second coming of Christ. Ancient and recent prophecies from the Bible, the mystics, and the saints. Unlike countless books today which deal with current world events related to prophecy predicting specific dates for the rapture and the return of Christ, this book sets the background on prophetic messages throughout Church history in a well-balanced, informative manner. An inspiring read! A recent endorsement: I have to say that of the many books I have read (having multiple degrees in theology -including my Doctorate from Columbia University) your They Bore the Wounds of Christ: The Mystery of the Sacred Stigmata... is one of my all time favorites. In fact not only do I continue to refer to it, but there are certain passages that you explain that could only be attributable to infused divine inspiration. Please continue to write ... Peace, Deacon Mike Vicinanza (April 17, 2016). |
roman catholic church 666: The Apocalypse Code Hank Hanegraaff, 2010-09-20 Hank Hanegraaff reveals the code to Revelation. Breaking the code of the book of Revelation has become an international obsession. The result, according to Hank Hanegraaff, has been rampant misreading of Scripture, bad theology, and even bad politics and foreign policy. Hanegraaff argues that the key to understanding the last book of the Bible is the other sixty-five books of the Bible — not current events or recent history and certainly not any complicated charts. The Apocalypse Code offers sane answers to some very controversial questions: What does it mean to take the book of Revelation (and the rest of the Bible) literally? Who are the “Antichrist” and the “Great Whore of Babylon,” and what is the real meaning of “666”? How does our view of the end times change the way we think about the crisis in the Middle East? Are two-thirds of all Jews really headed for an apocalyptic holocaust? The Apocalypse Code is a call to understand what the Bible really says about the end times and why how we understand it matters so much in today’s world. “Provocative and passionate, this fascinating book is a must-read for everyone who’s interested in end-times controversies.” — Lee Strobel, Author, The Case for the Real Jesus “ This book is a withering and unrelenting critique of the positions of apocalyptic enthusiasts — Tim LaHaye. Every fan of the Left Behind series should read this book. The fog will clear, and common sense will return to our reading of the Bible.” — Gary M. Burge, Professor of New Testament, Wheaton College and Graduate School. |

roman catholic church 666: The Papacy is the Antichrist Wylie, James A., 1888 The following demonstration is rested on no narrow basis. Its two postulates, like two posterns, admit us into the edifice, but they are not its foundations. The whole economy of Redemption, and the whole course of History are the broad substructions on which the argument is based and built up; and the author humbly submits that it cannot be overturned, or the conclusion arrived at set aside, without dislocating and shaking the structure of both Revelation and providence. The same line of proof which establishes that Christ is the promised Messiah, conversely applied, establishes that the Roman system is the predicted Apostacy. In the life of Christ we behold the converse of what the Antichrist must be; and in the prophecy of the Antichrist we are shown the converse of what Christ must be, and was. And when we place the Papacy between the two, and compare it with each, we find, on the one hand, that it is the perfect converse of Christ as seen in His life; and, on the other, that it is the perfect image of the Antichrist, as shown in the prophecy if him. We conclude, therefore, that if Jesus of Nazareth be the Christ, the Roman Papacy is the Antichrist. |
roman catholic church 666: The Rapture Trap Paul Thigpen, 2001 Thigpen lays out the biblical foundations of Catholic teaching on the close of age-- the end times. Is Jesus coming to rapture Christians in the earth's last days? roman catholic church 666: The Crucified Rabbi Taylor Marshall, 2009 How does Jesus fulfill over three hundred Old Testament Prophecies? (each listed inside this book) Is Catholicism inherently Anti-Semitic? Do the Hebrew Scriptures accurately predict Jesus of Nazareth as the Messiah? How does Jewish thinking presuppose devotion to Mary? Is the Catholic Church a fulfillment of historic Israel? How do Jewish water rituals relate to Catholic baptism? Is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass a Passover meal? Should the Catholic priesthood conform to the priesthood established by Moses? How has the Jewish Temple influenced traditional Christian architecture? Does the Pope wear a yarmulke? Praise for The Crucified Rabbi Taylor Marshall helps us to be more Catholic by taking our faith to its most profound depths - its ancient roots in the religion of Israel, the Judaism beloved by the Apostles, the religion of the Temple and Synagogue, the Torah and the sacrifice. Jesus said he came not to abolish that faith but to fulfill it. In this book, we see that fullness down to the smallest details. I treasure this book. Mike Aquilina, author of The Fathers of the Church Such sparkling insights appear on almost every page, as Taylor Marshall deftly compares various features of Judaism to their Catholic counterparts: the priesthood, vestments, holy days, marriage, and saints, to name but a few. Saint Augustine's dictum, The New Covenant is in the Old, concealed; the Old Covenant is in the New, revealed is on full display in The Crucified Rabbi --Cale Clarke, Catholic Insight Magazine This is a fascinating book full of interesting details. The Crucified Rabbi should be required reading for every student of the Catholic faith. Father Dwight Longenecker, author of Mary: A Catholic/Evangelical Debate |

How reliable is the New Testament? How reliable is reliable enough? |
roman catholic church 666: Satan the Anti-Christ and the False Prophet Larry I. DeRycke, 2014-02-18 Anti-Christ Defined I feel that it is important to understanding Satan that we define just what is meant by the word anti-Christ. The word Christ is obvious, it refers to the Savior, the son of God, the God of Creation. The English word anti means, to be against, or in opposition to. The problem is that the word anti as used in the Bible is Greek in its origin, and therefore has a definition with more meaning than the English word. In the Bible Concordance anti-Christos, is defined as: False Christ, Substitute for Christ, Opposite of, reverse, neutralizing, antagonistic. Therefore, the anti-Christ is someone or something that makes you think they are Christ, through false representation, and substitution. This can be illustrated in the Bible with the following verses. The purpose of this book is to reveal Gods True Word, to all who seek to know Gods Truth. |
roman catholic church 666: Truth - Not Exactly R. W. Mills, 2004-09-22 Page Count: 348 Truth - Not Exactly reveals how an atheist found God. This book contains his truth-seeking process: Deductive Theology, which assisted in the discovery of Revealed Truth. Further research concludes that God has absolutely communicated with us. Gods revelation is investigated, using the authors analytical skills from his business background. He gets to the bottom line of many life-impacting issues. Gods revelation with man is compared with actual recorded history, and what is found may change your ideas forever. Answers to real issues are covered in a matter-of-fact manner. There is no religious upbringing to protect. Nothing is taboo. It is a search for truth that became dangerous. Previously accepted concepts and values were turned upside down. The author was unprepared for the number of partial truths and blatant lies being fed to the masses; lies that he had completely accepted as well. This is not a standard theology book. You may not agree, but you will discover the truth about God. It may be one of the most important books you read. |

roman catholic church 666: The Final Trumpet R. W. Mills, 2005-02-08 The Final Trumpet is written by a former atheist. Gods revelation is investigated, using the authors analytical skills from his business background. Gods revelation, the Bible, is compared with actual recorded history and what is found may change your ideas forever. You may not agree, but you will discover the truth about God and His total sovereign control of all. The Final Trumpet is about being ready for the last day of the world. If hundreds of prophecies have come true exactly as stated, then the next event will surely happen exactly as God has revealed for all to know. The Final Trumpet may be one of the most important books you read. |

roman catholic church 666: Run Ann Patchett, 2007-09-25 Since their mother's death, Tip and Teddy Doyle have been raised by their loving, possessive, and ambitious father. As the former mayor of Boston, Bernard Doyle wants to see his sons in politics, a dream the boys have never shared. But when an argument in a blinding New England snowstorm inadvertently causes an accident that involves a stranger and her child, all Bernard Doyle cares about is his ability to keep his children—all his children—safe. Set over a period of twenty-four hours, Run takes us from the Museum of Comparative Zoology at Harvard to a home for retired Catholic priests in downtown Boston. It shows us how worlds of privilege and poverty can coexist only blocks apart from each other, and how family can include people you've never even met. As in her bestselling novel Bel Canto, Ann Patchett illustrates the humanity that connects disparate lives, weaving several stories into one surprising and endlessly moving narrative. Suspenseful and stunningly executed, Run is ultimately a novel about secrets, duty, responsibility, and the lengths we will go to protect our children. |
roman catholic church 666: Amazing Truth Samuel J. Abraham, The author, Samuel Abraham, was fascinated by the study of the Scriptures as his spiritual mentor helped him see that the Bible gives a more satisfying understanding of the origins of life, human civilization and language than philosophical materialism. Along the way, he discovered the uncanny nature of Bible prophecy and how God, through His prophets, predicted human history, provided a way for human redemption, and laid out a positive outcome for humankind. The author’s sometimes-novel explanations of Scripture and science will leave the reader thinking. The book is his gift of love to others who may be troubled with the same concerns so they will recognize the veracity of the Bible, God’s Holy Word. |

roman catholic church 666: Answering Atheism Trent Horn, 2013-09-01 Today's New Atheists don't just deny God's existence (as the old atheists did) - they consider it their duty to scorn and ridicule religious belief. We don't need new answers for this aggressive modern strain of unbelief: We need a new approach. In Answering Atheism, Trent Horn responds with a fresh and useful resource for the God debate, based on reason, common sense, and more importantly, a charitable approach that respects atheists' sincerity and good will, making this book suitable not just for believers but for skeptics and seekers too. Meticulously researched, and street-tested in Horn's work as a pro-God apologist, it tackles all the major issues of the debate, including: -Reconciling human evil and suffering with the existence of a loving, all-powerful God -Whether the empirical sciences have eliminated the need for God, or in fact point to him -How atheists usually deny moral laws (and thus a moral lawgiver) in theory |
roman catholic church 666: The Left Behind Fantasy William Powell Tuck, 2010-02-18 The popular Left Behind series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins has sold more than 62 million copies since the first volume appeared in 1995. Jerry Falwell pronounced it the most important series of books in the history of modern Christianity. Many readers have assumed it gives the true facts about the way the world will end and what will happen to all the people in it. But according to real biblical scholarship, this series is seriously flawed. Based on a misreading of many scriptures, including Daniel and the Book of Revelation, it has fed a kind of hysteria in the Christian populace that has led many people to reorder their existence in expectation of an impending doom and the sudden, unexpected return of Jesus. In this book, William Powell Tuck carefully and authoritatively refutes the premises and faulty theology of the Left Behind books, critiquing them in the light of genuine biblical scholarship and common sense. |
roman catholic church 666: The Lure of the Dark Side Christopher H. Partridge, Eric S. Christianson, 2014-12-18 Demons, devils, spirits and vampires are present throughout popular Western culture in film, music and literature. Their religious significance has only recently begun to be explored. 'The Lure of the Darkside' brings together the work of some of the most important and creative scholars in the field of Biblical and Religious Studies. The essays explore demonology in popular culture from a range of perspectives: Satanism within contemporary music; the relationship between hymn and horror film; the career of Hannibal Lecter; the portrayal of Satan in films about Christ; and spiritual perversion in the Harry Potter Stories. This fresh and ground-breaking volume will be of interest to students of religious studies and theology, as well as literary and popular culture. |

roman catholic church 666: Sandino's Communism Donald C. Hodges, 2013-12-06 Drawing on previously unknown or unassimilated sources, Donald C. Hodges here presents an entirely new interpretation of the politics and philosophy of Augusto C. Sandino, the intellectual progenitor of Nicaragua's Sandinista revolution. The first part of the book investigates the political sources of Sandino's thought in the works of Babeuf, Buonarroti, Blanqui, Proudhon, Bakunin, Most, Malatesta, Kropotkin, Ricardo Flores Magón, and Lenin—a mixed legacy of pre-Marxist and non-Marxist authoritarian and libertarian communists. The second half of the study scrutinizes the philosophy of nature and history that Sandino made his own. Hodges delves deeply into this philosophy as the supreme and final expression of Sandino's communism and traces its sources in the Gnostic and millenarian occult undergrounds. This results in a rich study of the ways in which Sandino's revolutionary communism and communist spirituality intersect—a spiritual politics that Hodges presents as more realistic than the communism of Karl Marx. While accepting the current wisdom that Sandino was a Nicaraguan liberal and social reformer, Hodges also makes a persuasive case that Sandino was first and foremost a communist, although neither of the Marxist nor anarchist variety. He argues that Sandino's eclectic communist spirituality was more of an asset than a liability for understanding the human condition, and that his spiritual politics promises to be more relevant than Marxism-Leninism for the twenty-first century. Indeed, Hodges believes that Sandino's holistic communism embraces both deep ecology and feminist spirituality—a finding that is sure to generate lively and productive debate. |

roman catholic church 666: Biblical Numeric Keys R. J. Plugge, 2016-11-28 God does things by the numbers. He knows the number of hairs on your head and the number who will be saved. He sets dimensions, durations, designs, definitions, and destinations. He numbered six (6) days for his work of Creation, then he sanctified the seventh for mankind. The numeric 7 has ever since been used as the number symbolizing perfect in the eyes of heaven and of those things expressing the actions of God. Throughout the scriptures, God has communicated through numbers, which are both symbolic and literal counts. The message in a scriptural text is often as much, or even more, within the symbolism of the associated numbers as it is within the words or actions depicted. The numbers often help explain or even interpret a written text. In this book are the most likely symbolic revelations to be associated with forty numbers, including 153, 666, 1290, and 1345. It will help you appreciate the depth of messages conveyed throughout Gods Word. |
