Teaching the coach and players to learn to see the game as fluid, instead of a rigid set of plays. For example, in many systems an offense will run 36 lead as a play. If the defense aligns perfectly to stop this run, they have a few rules to help, but are pretty much tied to running the 3 back through the 6 hole. If they want to run the ball with another back or run it a hole tighter, they will simply change the play. If they were teaching this as a concept it could be called Iso or Blast or whatever the coach chooses for the concept. The rules of the concept would dictate the hole the offense wanted to attack based on the alignment of the defense. The runner could be tagged to anyone in the backfield. This allows for an offense to have a more fluid streamlined look that takes advantage of what is presented by the defense instead of a rigid system that can become wordy or difficult to understand.

In McVay's second season, the Rams again won the NFC West and made their 4th Super Bowl appearance in franchise history. The goal of this book is to take an in-depth look at the schemes that helped the Rams be successful in the 2018 season with the purpose being so that other coaches can learn and use that knowledge to increase their own teams' chances of success. While this book will focus on the Rams' scheme, it would be incomplete without discussing McVay's character and leadership that have helped him be successful as a coach, and the culture that he and his staff have created. The first chapter of this book will look at McVay's character and leadership and the Rams' culture based on the information available online. The rest of the book will then be dedicated to analyzing the Rams' offensive scheme.

  rpo spread offense playbook: Gun T RPO 4.0 Kenny Simpson, 2022-11-14 This is version 4.0 of the Gun T RPO system. This system was developed this system while at Southside Batesville, a 4A school in Arkansas from 2016-2019. Ran it one season at Searcy, AR a 6A school and returned in 2021 to Southside. In 2022, I took the head football position again at Southside. Each stop has had a different QB, and different athletes and the system will always center around the talent the school provides. Each school and year has talent, but it varies often at the high school level. It has been my goal to work to create a system that has answers for each group. This season we were much different than in 2021. The Gun T RPO system is the best of 3 worlds: The Wing-T offensive system has been around for many years. The best part of the Wing-T is the run game that utilizes angles and takes advantage of the defensive alignment by creating them. The Wing-T is also known for its series based offense, which has multiple plays that look the same in the backfield action. The RPO system has taken football by storm over the last couple of decades. To be able to place defenders in conflict with the run/pass option game gives the offense a numbers advantage at all times. This system is also great because while it seems the quarterback must make a decision on each play, it also shrinks his world by having him read only one or two defenders. The Power-Spread game is gaining steam throughout every level of football. To be in the shotgun, but still have a downhill running game is deadly and difficult to defend. Utilizing tight ends and H-backs has become new again in football. The reality is this system has been around for awhile, just not in the shotgun. When combined into the Gun T RPO system, these worlds at first seem at odds with one another. However, after a deeper dig, these offenses are all concept based that build in answers to handle any defense that may show up on a given day. This entire offense is based on answering the If-Then question that must be answered. A good defense will have multiple problems it presents to the offense and your system must have built in answers. Hopefully, through reading some of this material it may provide answers. Coach Simpson shows how you can evolve your system to fit your personnel. Too often coaches will as Coach Simpson put it try to pound the square peg in the round hole.
