ronelle wood: Touching Light Ronelle Wood, 2015-09-07 You have inside you a cloak of gossamer connective tissue that surrounds and supports everything and functions like fiber optics. This tissue is called fascia. In these pages, myofascial release expert Ronelle Wood translates the scientific language for the chemistry, function, and physiology of fascia, shares her hands-on expertise, and explains in layman's terms how our fascia affects us all in everyday life and its potential as a prime source of health and rejuvenation. Gay Hendricks says in his foreword: I've been blessed to know many great healers and teachers over my forty-five years in the field of transformation; Ronelle is right at the top of the list of masterful practitioners I've known. Read this book and you'll no longer perceive your body as a misbehaving slave to be punished into submission, but as a communicative partner-always supporting you. |
ronelle wood: Remembering Awake Julie Foster, MD, 2024-11-01 Remembering Awake will guide you to a safe frequency where you can experience the bliss of a vulnerable heart, with no protective prison walls keeping it from sharing its love and wisdom. This book will help you remember that all the energies of what you see as your reality are fragments of the same cosmic soul discovering a way to tune their unique note into the celestial harmony of creation’s symphony. It is time for our soul to awaken to its true potential and collectively create a more loving reality. This book is a guidebook on how to do that. It will help you understand how important and perfect your soul’s journey through time has been. It will help your mind relax and melt into harmony with all the dimensions of our consciousness. Remembering Awake will help you open the prisons your limbic system has placed you in and dissolve some of the amnesia that keeps you from remembering that only one unconditionally loving soul is here “playing Earth.” Through this profound awakening, you will set your mind and soul free to love all it encounters and feel a peace within that you never dreamed existed. Dr. Julie Foster’s mind was trapped in slumber for the first fifty years of her life. In 2020, her hands “turned on,” and she began to feel the energetic entanglements in her patients and humanity that are the root cause of our diseases. She learned that the prescriptions she wrote as a medical doctor were just bandages which quieted symptoms. This epiphany opened her mind and gave her the desire to find a way to help her patients cure, rather than conceal, their diseases. Through an open heart, she remembered we all have a God particle that creates our human suit and can be one with all energy in existence. She learned to surrender and let “God heal God” by connecting to the God particle in those who came to her for healing. We are the world teacher. Every fragment of our soul has wisdom to share. This book will help you awaken so you can feel blessed by the loving wisdom you have exchanged with others’ souls through choosing to play Earth. Julie ends many blogs with, “I love you. We got this.” By the end of the book, you will embody the cosmic vibration of those words and share it in your interactions with other amazing versions of your soul. It is time to discover the joy of remembering who you truly are by “loving open.” Julie’s loving stories on how we heal will guide you to this reality. |
ronelle wood: One Hundred Daffodils Rebecca Winn, 2020-03-24 When women share the truth about life and loss . . . hope is restored in this enlightening and comforting memoir about purpose, personal growth, and nature's ability to heal (Sarah Ban Breathnach). There is so much life in the garden. That is why I come. Life that is gentle, self-supporting, and beautiful. Continuous in its cycles, grounded, pure. When her husband asked for a divorce after twenty-five years of marriage, Rebecca Winn felt untethered physically, spiritually, and emotionally. The security she'd had in her marriage was suddenly replaced by an overwhelming sense of fear, hopelessness, and dread. She felt invisible and alone and was horrified to consider that her deepest longing -- to know and be known by another person -- might never be realized. But from this fear emerged a powerful desire to answer one of life's most profound questions: How can we ever know another person if we do not truly know ourselves? Facilitated in measures by a love affair with a younger man, dedicated study of Jungian psychology, and a deep dive into global spiritual practices, Winn transformed heartbreak into wholeness through communion with the divine in nature. By turning to her garden for guidance, sanctuary, and inspiration, and dialing closely into the flora and fauna around her, she ultimately discovered what is possible when we are willing look at our unvarnished selves with an open mind -- and see others with an open heart. |
ronelle wood: Song of the Shenandoah Brenda George, 2013-05-23 Jed Buchanan is one of the Blue Ridge mountain people displaced by the formation of the Shenandoah National Park. Through a quirk of fate he is offered a job as a farm manager on one of the loveliest farms in the Shenandoah Valley. Though he loves the life, dire danger lurks in the form of a fanatical, old-style Ku Klux Klan klavern that has been operating in the rural areas of Northern Virginia. Jed falls in love with two very different women: the beautiful, sultry sophisticate, Virginia Chadwick, whom he saves from being savaged by a vicious dog. This leads to the humble hillbilly giving regular lectures to one of the most powerful groups in Washington DC., Then theres lovely, spunky Sage Kelly, who has left three men at the altar. However, Jed has good reason to suspect that she and her brother, Tom, are members of the Ku Klux Klan. Sequel to the widely acclaimed Falling Leaves and Mountain Ashes, this compelling epic novel, set in the1940s and 1950s, displays once again what a master storyteller George is. |

ronelle wood: Home Reading Service Fabio Morábito, 2021-11-16 In this poignant novel, a man guilty of a minor offense finds purpose unexpectedly by way of his punishment—reading to others. After an accident—or “the misfortune,” as his cancer-ridden father’s caretaker, Celeste, calls it—Eduardo is sentenced to a year of community service reading to the elderly and disabled. Stripped of his driver’s license and feeling impotent as he nears thirty-five, he leads a dull, lonely life, chatting occasionally with the waitresses of a local restaurant or walking the streets of Cuernavaca. Once a quiet town known for its lush gardens and swimming pools, the “City of Eternal Spring” is now plagued by robberies, kidnappings, and the other myriad forms of violence bred by drug trafficking. At first, Eduardo seems unable to connect. He movingly reads the words of Dostoyevsky, Henry James, Daphne du Maurier, and more, but doesn’t truly understand them. His eccentric listeners—including two brothers, one mute, who moves his lips while the other acts as ventriloquist; deaf parents raising children they don’t know are hearing; and a beautiful, wheelchair-bound mezzo soprano—sense his detachment. Then Eduardo comes across a poem his father had copied by the Mexican poet Isabel Fraire, and it affects him as no literature has before. Through these fascinating characters, like the practical, quick-witted Celeste, who intuitively grasps poetry even though she never learned to read, Fabio Morábito shows how art can help us rediscover meaning in a corrupt, unequal society. |

ronelle wood: Falling Leaves and Mountain Ashes Brenda George, 2012-05-29 FALLING LEAVES AND MOUNTAIN ASHES Starting in 1899, this 40-year saga is the tragic story of how the Blue Ridge mountain people ultimately become displaced to make way for the Shenandoah National Park. Set against an authentic background of mountain life, andthe raw, unspoiled beauty of the mountains, it is a rich weave of humor and heartache, love and violence, courage and brutality, feuds and strong family ties. A brave young mountain woman, Mary Harley, elopes to Claw Mountain, to marry Zachary Thomas Buchanan, the eldest of the Buckos, the violent and lawless sixteen living sons of Obediah who comes from a wealthy valley family, but is a fugitive from the law and a renowned moonshiner. The Buchanan clan has been feuding with the neighboring Galtreys for 30 years. The handsome, knife-scarred Eli is one of the younger Buckos, but the most feared. However, nobody, except Zachary Thomas, knows the dark, terrible secret he harbors within him. Desperately unhappy living with her silent, uncommunicative husband, Mary, pregnant with her first child, attempts to escape the mountain, but is caught, and becomes horrified witness to the terrible brutality of the clans patriarch. Then she and Zachary Thomas are thrown together during a long, terrible winter. . . Eli, a natural mimic and gifted pretender, enters Skyland, a famous mountain summer resort, to sell moonshine to its colorful owner. He falls madly in love with Annabel, the beautiful daughter of a reverend who he saves from being struck by a rattlesnake. He later moves to Washington to become a partner in a distillery, and be close to Annabel, even though she is engaged to an aide to vice president Theodore Roosevelt. Eli becomes wealthy and successful, his own influence even extending to the White House. After Prohibition is enacted, Reverend Cotterall becomes the countrys leading Prohibitionist and is determined to keep his daughter away from Eli, whom he loathes. The story comes to a dramatic climax when devastating secrets are revealed. |
ronelle wood: Straight from the Horse's Mouth Meryem Alaoui, 2020-09-15 Named a Best Book of the Year by the Los Angeles Public Library This hilarious, colorful portrait of a sex worker navigating life in modern Morocco introduces a promising new literary voice. Thirty-four-year-old prostitute Jmiaa reflects on the bustling world around her with a brutal honesty, but also a quick wit that cuts through the drudgery. Like many of the women in her working-class Casablanca neighborhood, Jmiaa struggles to earn enough money to support herself and her family—often including the deadbeat husband who walked out on her and their young daughter. While she doesn’t despair about her profession like her roommate, Halima, who reads the Quran between clients, she still has to maintain a delicate balance between her reality and the “respectable” one she paints for her own more conservative mother. This daily grind is interrupted by the arrival of an aspiring young director, Chadlia, whom Jmiaa takes to calling “Horse Mouth.” Chadlia enlists Jmiaa’s help on a film project, initially just to make sure the plot and dialogue are authentic. But when she’s unable to find an actress who’s right for the starring role, she turns again to Jmiaa, giving the latter an incredible opportunity for a better life. In her breakout debut novel, Meryem Alaoui creates a vibrant picture of the day-to-day challenges faced by working people in Casablanca, which they meet head-on with resourcefulness and resilience. |

ronelle wood: The Scientific Imagination in South Africa William Beinart, Saul Dubow, 2021-05-20 South Africa provides a unique vantage point from which to examine the scientific imagination over the last three centuries, when its position on the African continent made it a staging post for Portuguese, Dutch, and British colonialism. In the eighteenth century, South African plants and animals caught the imagination of visiting Europeans. In the nineteenth century, science became central to imperial conquest, devastating wars, agricultural intensification and the exploitation of rich mineral resources. Scientific work both facilitated, and offered alternatives to, the imposition of segregation and apartheid in the twentieth century. William Beinart and Saul Dubow offer an innovative exploration of science and technology in this complex, divided society. Bridging a range of disciplines from astronomy to zoology, they demonstrate how scientific knowledge shaped South Africa's peculiar path to modernity. In so doing, they examine the work of remarkable individual scientists and institutions, as well as the contributions of leading politicians from Jan Smuts to Thabo Mbeki. |
ronelle wood: Duty and Desire Pamela Aidan, 2006-10-03 ³There was little danger of encountering the Bennet sisters ever again.² Jane Austen's classic novel Pride and Prejudice is beloved by millions, but little is revealed in the book about the mysterious and handsome hero, Mr. Darcy. And so the question has long remained: Who is Fitzwilliam Darcy? Pamela Aidan's trilogy finally answers that long-standing question, creating a rich parallel story that follows Darcy as he meets and falls in love with Elizabeth Bennet. Duty and Desire, the second book in the trilogy, covers the silent time of Austen's novel, revealing Darcy's private struggle to overcome his attraction to Elizabeth while fulfilling his roles as landlord, master, brother, and friend. When Darcy pays a visit to an old classmate in Oxford in an attempt to shake Elizabeth from his mind, he is set upon by husband-hunting society ladies and ne'er-do-well friends from his university days, all with designs on him -- some for good and some for ill. He and his sartorial genius of a valet, Fletcher, must match wits with them all, but especially with the curious Lady Sylvanie. Irresistibly authentic and entertaining, Duty and Desire remains true to the spirit and events of Pride and Prejudice while incorporating fascinating new characters, and is sure to dazzle Austen fans and newcomers alike. |

ronelle wood: Labyrinth Burhan Sönmez, 2019-11-19 Notable International Crime Novel of the Year – Crime Reads / Lit Hub From a prize-winning Turkish novelist, a heady, political tale of one man’s search for identity and meaning in Istanbul after the loss of his memory. A blues singer, Boratin, attempts suicide by jumping off the Bosphorus Bridge, but opens his eyes in the hospital. He has lost his memory, and can't recall why he wished to end his life. He remembers only things that are unrelated to himself, but confuses their timing. He knows that the Ottoman Empire fell, and that the last sultan died, but has no idea when. His mind falters when remembering civilizations, while life, like a labyrinth, leads him down different paths. From the confusion of his social and individual memory, he is faced with two questions. Does physical recognition provide a sense of identity? Which is more liberating for a man, or a society: knowing the past, or forgetting it? Embroidered with Borgesian micro-stories, Labyrinth flows smoothly on the surface while traversing sharp bends beneath the current. |

He grew up around the Mid-west and spent a majority of his childhood focusing on extracurricular activities. His ambitions as a creative story enthusiast grew as the entertainment industry did through the 90s. After the turn of the millennium his focuses were isolated toward the gaming region more so than all other part of the entertainment industry. After Andrew became a father to two girls and one boy, he decided to pursue his writing career wholeheartedly. Personal life events, outlooks, and environmental circumstances pushed his initial story draft to greater heights than he expected. His passion to become a published author grew stronger as time went on. His first novel, Latrommi, is the final result of his dedication and persistence during the year of 2012. Andrew is seeking to have his first novel converted into a video game for fans to dive into. The illustrations within his first novel are his personal depictions of how the characters within the game would visually appear. Inspired by thousands of hours of game testing and story constructing, his story Latrommi, has been creatively written to provide a strong structure for optimal game play. The sequel to Latrommi has been started and will soon follow in publication. Andrew s eventual goal is to have an entire series of Latrommi books that will fuel a successful game series. While he currently lives Indiana, Andrew plans on moderately traveling to establish a better understanding of the intricacies our world presents on a day-to-day basis. |
