Chapters 1 - 7 are concerned with differential amplifiers. They provide the necessary background for chapters 8 - 11 which are concerned with the design of an audio amplifier circuit. Audio amplifiers are used to amplify a low audio signal (increase its loudness) and drive the resulting amplified audio signal through a speaker. This book covers the design of a transistor based audio amplifier that can be readily built on a breadboard. Chapter 12 is concerned with the design of a transistor based AM medium wave radio receiver. It ties nicely to the audio amplifier circuit designed in previous chapters, for the same audio circuit is reused to amplify the audio that's extracted by radio receiver circuit from the AM radio wave. Some AM radio receiver designs require a special type of diode, but the design covered in this book can be implemented with any ordinary diode (any Silicon Diode such as the common 1N4148 diode).
