none but jesus chords in c: Acoustic Music Source Book Richard L. Matteson, Jr., 2012-03-01 Bill Bay asked me to write a follow up book to my last book, The Bluegrass Pickers Tune Book (20233). If you like Bluegrass music (232 songs) I'd recommend getting that book to add to your collection. the focus of this book, the Acoustic Source Book is on roots and old-time music. the book is focused on the time period from late 1800's until 1940's. There are a few songs from the Bluegrass Book that were too important to be left out. I decided not to use any patriotic and Christmas songs and came up with a list of about 400 songs which eventually was cut down to over 200. During the late 1800's and early 1900's there was an important evolution in American music; the birth of jazz, ragtime, and blues. This was also the period of the phonograph and early commercial recordings. Music from the Minstrel period as well as traditional songs were used as staple for the roots musicians. In the early 1900's there were rags, blues, gospel, Tin-Pan Alley, jug band, spiritual, old-time country and popular songs. I've tried to include some of the well-known songs from every genre to give you a big slice of Americana. There are some great songs that are popular roots, bluegrass and old-time songs today that have never been published. There are also great songs that are not well known that should be played and enjoyed.Richard Matteson with Kara Pleasants Wildwood Flower http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KO9Xde2bdwA Paul & Silas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bv5Tmaff9HQ Meet Me By the Moonlight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gwzCZfnG64 Scarborough Fair http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grbxMlz_DlI Water is Wide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-hZkxWs8gs Richard Matteson with Jessica KasterBarbara Allen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uX6PE80W4Pw In the Pines http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtOL9Id5TW4 Hop Along Peter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5kAzSQ__rU Ain't Gonna Lay my Armor Down http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsBYRuT2_FU

none but jesus chords in c: When I Wore S's on My Collar Henry Arrowood, 2024-09-12 When I Wore S's On My Collar is a collection of selected stories gleaned from the author's life journals over five decades. The stories tell about some of the unforgettable people who impacted his life during his childhood and teen years in Tennessee and the Carolinas and the thirty-one years he served as an officer in The Salvation Army in numerous appointments in the southern United States and the Caribbean. Some of the stories are funny, or at least they caused him to chuckle when the events happened and again when he wrote about them. Some have sad elements, of course, because they deal with loss, loneliness, and hurt. But mostly, they are stories of people who blessed, humored, challenged, inspired, and encouraged him and others. Some were characters, some saints, some both, many of them possessing not only the joy of the Lord but the ability to laugh at circumstances, at self, at the idiosyncrasies and imperfections in even the most pious – seeing humor in both the insignificant and the momentous occurrences of life, but doing so without taking for granted or diminishing the sacredness of things spiritual and eternal.

none but jesus chords in c: Good Good Father Chris Tomlin, Pat Barrett, 2016-10-04 Tucker wants to give the King a gift in hopes that the King will help his friends. But what is the perfect gift for a King? Inspired by the #1 hit worship song by Chris Tomlin, this precious story teaches children about our Father God's unconditional love and acceptance and that the only gift God wants is our hearts. Grammy Award-winning music artist, Chris Tomlin, and Pat Barrett (Housefires) team up to tell the story of a little bear named Tucker whose life is forever changed when he learns just how great the King's love is for him. When Tucker's friends need help, he journeys to see the King who lives in a castle where the door is always open. Along the way, Tucker encounters a variety of humorous animals filled with ideas about what the King is like. Then finally, he meets the King who runs to him with open arms. This read-aloud storybook for 4- to 8-year-olds: Shows young children the character of God through a fun adventure story Teaches that God loves His children no matter what Encourages kids to have a relationship with their Heavenly Father and to ask for His help in prayer Sparks family discussions about who God is Makes a calming bedtime read with its warm message of God's caring heart With whimsical art created by Lorna Hussey, this inspiring story will leave children, young and old, reassured that God is a good, good Father, and they are loved by Him.
