michio kaku google scholar: Parallel Realities Eleanor Hawking, AI, 2025-02-17 Parallel Realities explores the mind-bending concepts of the multiverse, alternate timelines, and the possibility of alternate selves, areas that were once science fiction staples but are now serious topics in science and philosophy. The book examines how ideas from cosmology, quantum mechanics, and string theory have led to the notion that our universe might be just one of many. One intriguing aspect discussed is how different levels of multiverses could exist, each with varying physical laws or even alternate versions of ourselves. The book challenges readers to consider the implications of these theories on our understanding of reality, causality, and identity. The book approaches this complex subject by first laying the historical and theoretical groundwork, tracing the evolution of cosmological models and philosophical thought. It then systematically introduces different multiverse models, such as Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 multiverses, before delving into the implications of alternate timelines and the philosophical paradoxes they present. The later chapters address the profound question of whether other versions of ourselves could exist and what that might mean for our understanding of free will and determinism. The book aims to present these ideas in an accessible manner, making it valuable for anyone curious about the frontiers of science and philosophy.
michio kaku google scholar: An Intellectual Biography of Africa Francis Kwarteng, 2022-07-13 Africa is the birthplace of humanity and civilization. And yet people generally don’t want to accept the scientific impression of Africa as the birthplace of human civilization. The skeptics include Africans themselves, a direct result of the colonial educational systems still in place across Africa, and even those Africans who acquire Western education, particularly in the humanities, have been trapped in the symptomatology of epistemic peonage. These colonial educational systems have overstayed their welcome and should be dismantled. This is where African agency comes in. Agential autonomy deserves an authoritative voice in shaping the curricular direction of Africa. Agential autonomy implicitly sanctions an Afrocentric approach to curriculum development, pedagogy, historiography, literary theory, indigenous language development, and knowledge construction. Science, technology, engineering, mathematics?information and communications technology (STEM-ICT) and research and development (R&D) both exercise foundational leverage in the scientific and cultural discourse of the kind of African Renaissance Cheikh Anta Diop envisaged. “Mr. Francis Kwarteng has written a book that looks at some of the major distortions of African history and Africa’s major contributions to human civilization. In this context, Mr. Kwarteng joins a long list of thinkers who roundly reject the foundational Eurocentric epistemology of Africa in favor of an Afrocentric paradigm of Africa’s material, spiritual, scientific, and epistemic assertion. Mr. Kwarteng places S.T.E.M. and a revision of the humanities at the center of the African Renaissance and critiques Eurocentric fantasies about Africa and its Diaspora following the critical examples of Cheikh Anta Diop, Ama Mazama, Molefi Kete Asante, Abdul Karim Bangura, Theophile Obenga, Maulana Karenga, Mubabingo Bilolo, Kwame Nkrumah, Ivan Van Sertima, W.E.B. Du Bois, and several others. Readers of this book will be challenged to look at Africa through a critical lens.” Ama Mazama, editor/author of Africa in the 21st Century: Toward a New Future “There are countless books about the evolution of European intellectual thought but scarcely any that captures the pioneering contributions of Africans since the beginning of recorded knowledge in Kmet, a.k.a. Ancient Egypt. Well, that long drought has ended with the publication of Kwarteng's An Intellectual Biography of Africa: A Philosophical Anatomy of Advancing Africa the Diopian Way. Prepare to be educated.” Milton Allimadi, author of Manufacturing Hate: How Africa Was Demonized in the Media

michio kaku google scholar: Thinking Like Einstein Thomas G. West, 2010-03-05 Albert Einstein once said that all of his most important and productive thinking was done by playing with images in his imagination. Only in a secondary stage did he translate - with great effort, he says - these images into the language of words and mathematics that could be understood by others. According to Thomas G. West, Einstein was a classic example of a strong visual thinker, a person who tends to think in images and visual patterns, and sometimes has difficulty with words and numbers. In his awarding-winning book, In the Mind''s Eye, West discussed the connections between highly talented, visually oriented persons like Einstein and certain learning disabilities such as dyslexia. Now, in Thinking Like Einstein, West investigates the new worlds of visual thinking, insight, and creativity made possible by computer graphics and information visualization technologies. He argues that, with the rapid spread of inexpensive and powerful computers, we are now at the beginning of a major transition, moving from an old world based mainly on words and numbers to a new world where high level work in all fields will eventually involve insights based on the display and manipulation of complex information using moving computer images. West profiles several highly creative visual thinkers, such as James Clerk Maxwell, Nikola Tesla, and Richard Feynman, pointing out that there is a long history of using visualization rather than words or numbers to solve problems. Citing the longstanding historical conflicts between image lovers and image haters, West examines the relationship of art, scientific knowledge, and differences in brain capabilities - observing how modern visual thinkers with visualization technologies seem to have learned how to cut through the problems of overspecialization in academia and in the workplace. West predicts that computer visualization technology will radically change the way we all work and think. For thousands of years the technology of writing and reading has tended to promote the dominance of the left hemisphere of the brain, with its linear processing of words and numbers. Now the spread of graphical computer technologies is permitting a return to our visual roots with a new balance between hemispheres and ways of thinking - presenting new opportunities for problem solving and big picture thinking. Thus, he argues that the newest technologies will help us to reaffirm some of our oldest capabilities, allowing us to see previously unseen patterns and to restore a balance in thought and action.

michio kaku google scholar: Economic Biology and Behavioral Economics Gerald A. Cory Jr., 2022-12-30 Economic Biology and Behavioral Economics: The Prophesy of Alfred Marshall explores the prophesy of Alfred Marshall, the grand synthesizer of neoclassical economics, that the Mecca of the economist lies in economic biology. The book presents the proof of that prophesy through examination and establishment of the fundamental biological science necessary and then applying that science to the examination of current economic theory. In doing so, the book focuses primarily on the fundamentals of neoclassical economic theory— which is the reigning theory and the general framework of which is taught as science in first courses in college economics. These courses are at best an idealization, if not an ideology, of the discipline—presented to fresh minds misleadingly as confirmed science. The book examines the bases and the history of these idealizations, points to the sources of their error from the biological perspective and suggests a path forward for the discipline. Through this process, the book demonstrates the power of the biological perspective anticipated by Marshall. This book provides invaluable reading for anyone interested in the future of economics and economic theory, and particularly those interested in behavioral economics and neuroeconomics.

michio kaku google scholar: Bye bye Materialism Bruno Del Medico, 2024-03-09 The cosmic error of materialism, rooted in classical science, lies in the dogmatic pride that it reveals when it claims that reality is composed exclusively of matter and that all phenomena can be explained through physical laws. In this way, materialism ignores the complex facets of human experience and reality itself. His restrictive vision neglects the role of the immaterial aspect and subjective experience in the philosophical field, thus creating a partial and limited image of the cosmos around us. One of the main limitations of materialism is the lack of adequate tools to explain subtle and complex phenomena such as consciousness, aesthetic experience and the meaning of human existence. These immaterial aspects of the human being cannot simply be reduced to electrical processes in the brain or chemical reactions, since they imply an interaction between the physical and metaphysical dimensions. Furthermore, the materialist vision encounters insurmountable limits when addressing aspects of the universe such as the origin of life, free will and the profound meaning of existence. Fortunately, the advent of quantum physics has led to discoveries that challenge this reductionist view. The quantum nature of reality and Heisenberg's uncertainty principle highlight the importance of the observer and the need for a new way of conceiving matter itself. Over the last century, quantum physics has heavily refuted the materialist paradigm, shaking the foundations of our way of interpreting the world. The analysis of this turning point appears pervaded by bewilderment and regret as it revealed the intrinsic errors and scientific groundlessness that characterized historical materialism. Today, new scientific knowledge allows us to rewrite the script of our certainties in terms of knowledge and understanding of the cosmos. The inexorable force of discoveries in the quantum field has powerfully undermined the conceptual strongholds of materialism. A new scientific paradigm confirms that everything we considered solid and unassailable has actually turned out to be fragile and permeable. The real world is infinitely more subtle and complex than we imagined.
michio kaku google scholar: Physics - How does God manifest Himself in the Universe? Rero Marques Rubinger, 2023-01-30 The book: Physics – How does God manifest Himself in the Universe? God's Master Equation is a general audience scientific book that discusses the evolution of ideas in Physics throughout history covering its main areas of Classical Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Electromagnetism, and Quantum Mechanics, in addition to two others: Cosmology and Nonlinear Dynamics. God's manifestation is debated based on quotes from great scientists, such as Einstein and Newton, and scientific arguments, as well as quotes from the Bible and other religions. A chapter is devoted to the equation and associated theory that entitles the book. The language is accessible and the equations and examples presented are as simple as possible to reach a large audience. The book presents a proposal to consider a third important quantity in the Universe, which is Information, associated with Entropy. This topic is already known, but the author rereads it through a new interpretation, which absorbs the reader. This book is a work with a powerful message that ravels to that of Yuval Harari's Sapiens and Homo Deus, as it brings an unprecedented meaningful message.
