make a pictionary: A Kiss in the Dark Suzanne Enoch, 2024-10-08 A cat burglar extraordinaire trying to reform — and finally marry her sexy British billionaire — finds herself walking a tightrope when she takes on the security for a glamorous auction house, in this sparkling, sexy thriller by New York Times bestseller Suzanne Enoch. When Samantha Jellicoe, cat burglar and art thief extraordinaire (reformed!) is tapped to install last minute security for the auction of a priceless art collection, she leaps at the chance. Not only is it a great offer, but it will lead to future jobs, which are hard to find for a talented but notorious ex-thief. If there's one thing Sam knows, it's security— and how to get around it! Walking the straight and narrow (so she can marry her dreamy, aristocratic fiancé Richard Addison) is not going to be easy, and this case adds a whole new level of complications: the possible involvement of her interfering and equally skilled Dad, the auction house's liaison's mysterious background, as well as the hidden motives of her new staff means that Sam's burglar sack is full to the brim with extra baggage — and not the sparkly kind! Failure could mean the end of Sam's freedom, her relationship with Rick, and everything she's been working for, so it's all hands on deck for Team Sam, with a few twists, fireworks — literal and personal — and some great pizza, in a blowout that New York City's art scene will never forget! |

Natasha: I’m a girl who believes in science and facts. Not fate. Not destiny. Or dreams that will never come true. I’m definitely not the kind of girl who meets a cute boy on a crowded New York City street and falls in love with him. Not when my family is twelve hours away from being deported to Jamaica. Falling in love with him won’t be my story. Daniel: I’ve always been the good son, the good student, living up to my parents’ high expectations. Never the poet. Or the dreamer. But when I see her, I forget about all that. Something about Natasha makes me think that fate has something much more extraordinary in store—for both of us. The Universe: Every moment in our lives has brought us to this single moment. A million futures lie before us. Basically, I’m allergic to the world. I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla. But then one day, a moving truck arrives next door. I look out my window, and I see him. He's tall, lean and wearing all black—black T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely. He catches me looking and stares at me. I stare right back. His name is Olly. Maybe we can’t predict the future, but we can predict some things. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. It’s almost certainly going to be a disaster. make a pictionary: Islam, Liberalism, and Ontology Joseph J. Kaminski, 2021-03-31 This book offers comparative ontologies of both Islam and liberalism as discourses more broadly construed. The author argues that, despite recent efforts to speak of overlapping consensuses and discursive congruence, the fundamental categories that constitute Islam and Liberalism remain very different, and that these differences should be taken seriously. Thus far, no recent scholarly works have explicitly or meticulously broken down where these differences lie. The author rigorously explores questions related to rights, moral epistemologies, the role of religion in the public sphere, and more general approaches to legal discourse, via primary and canonical sources constitutive of both Islam and liberalism. He then goes on to articulate why communitarian modes of thought are better suited for engaging with Islam and contemporary socio-political modes of organization than liberalism is. This book will be of great interest to students and scholars of politics and international relations, Islam, liberalism, and communitarianism. |
make a pictionary: Lamb Food Kevin Crosthwaite, 2020-02-25 In the Gospel of John, Jesus three times admonishes Peter to feed my sheep. Theologians suspect the three repeats harken back to Peter's three denials. I think it simply underscores how important it is to build and nourish the worldly flock. All Christian leaders must nourish and grow their respective flocks. However, when facing a group of youth of various ages, this can be daunting. How do you keep their attention? Particularly for modern social media-addicted youth who are so easily BORED. Our solution has been to look for a hook to gain and keep their attention. In that spirit, this book collected the ideas that worked for us. Also, when planning a Sunday school program, you will occasionally need to inspire, encourage, and support other adult leaders. This book is a collection of those stories, along with youth activities and games. While we did use scripture and Bible stories in our programs, the focus of our approach was to draw on examples from nature and popular culture that point to God. Then once you can grab their attention, together you can lead them to a deeper understanding of Scripture while they open new insights to you. |

make a pictionary: Project Self-Esteem Wendy Cullum, 2014-04 Shyness, bullying, and depression can be a sad part of every child's school experience. Each of these problems can be traced back to a single source-a lack of self-esteem. In my many years of working with children, I have found that the key to helping our kids succeed in life is building up their self-esteem at an early age. In this book are valuable life lessons that have been tried and tested for more than fifteen years by myself and other parents and teachers in their homes and classrooms. The subjects that are taught range from courage to forgiveness. The lessons are fun and uplifting and have profound effects on children and their self-esteem. When children feel they have value, they are happier and do better in school and in life. I taught the lesson for PSE on Joy... Thank you so much for such a great lesson. I went to teach it to the kids (at their level) and left the classroom so encouraged and full of joy because I couldn't help but to understand the topic! The kids enjoyed all the activities, and we had such a fun time. Again, thank you so much for all the work you do to put this program together. It doesn't just impact the children; it was an amazing and timely reminder for me today! -Cristina Sands, stay-at-home mom PSE is a wonderful program at our school! The valuable lessons and discussion points are age-appropriate and engaging. We appreciate how they are grade specific. Our students, teachers, and volunteers look forward to the activities and relatable topics each month. -Marlo Guerra, PTA member and grounds supervisor |

make a pictionary: Outstanding Lessons Made Simple Dr. Richard Beard, 2014-12-20 Dr Richard Beard started off as a Science Teacher at Codsall Community High School, Staffordshire, UK and progressed to being an Advanced Skills Teacher (AST), Gifted & Talented and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Co-ordinator. This supportive role continued for four years and across all subjects within a mixture of age ranges as part of the Codsall High School Federation of Schools. Throughout this period, Richard worked within an outstanding and innovative leadership team to help raise the quality of teaching rapidly from Satisfactory (2007) to Outstanding (2010). In three short years, the team had worked to complete a meteoric rise in the quality of Teaching & Learning. Richards work during this time and in the present day is heavily influenced by Assessment for learning (AfL). He realised that training related to planning and the use of AfL lacked the simple approach. Confusion often reigned over what is good practice especially in teachers just joining the profession. From this, Outstanding-lessons-made-simple.co.uk was created in the aim of promoting the simple approach: The Outstanding Lesson Framework. The framework was designed to help teachers discover a simple and effective way to teach. The aim being that all teachers can deliver good and outstanding lessons all the time not just in observations with the simple backbone to good teaching: AfL. At the present time, the framework provides the basis for the improvement of the quality of Teaching & Learning across all of the schools Richard has worked at. He continues to use it as an Assistant Headteacher in charge of Teaching & Learning at The Marches School in Oswestry, Shropshire (Outstanding, Ofsted, 2010) whilst he regularly delivers training on the framework and its use to improve the quality of Teaching & Learning across different schools. |
