Obsahuje cca 100.000 hesel a 300.000 jejich ekvivalentů. Slovní zásoba byla vybírána tak, aby respektovala frekvenci užití. Základní frazeologie je doplněna o fráze, konkrétní spojení, významové charakteristiky a příklady, jakožto i o expresivní výrazy, přísloví a v části česko-anglické též tematické okruhy k vybraným heslům. Slovník provází důkladná gramatická charakteristika v části anglicko-české, a to uvedení slovního druhu, nepravidelného plurálu podstatných jmen a počitatelnost, nepravidelné stupňování přídavných jmen a časování sloves. Kapitola „Jak se slovníkem pracovat a co nejlépe jej využít“ podrobně informuje uživatele o tvoření slovesných časů. V příloze též uvádíme podrobný přehled časování vybraných nepravidelných sloves. V anglicko-české části slovníku je u všech hlavních hesel důsledně uváděn přepis výslovnosti, a to nejen britské, ale rovněž americké. |
