He was the son of Jens Jorgensen and Marie Larson. James married Harriet Emaline Lamb 29 November 1880 in the LDS Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were the parents of ten children. James died 18 October 1940 in Preston, Idaho. Descendants lived primarily in Utah, Idaho, California and elsewhere.
