La Asociación Foro de la Comunicación no ha quedado ajena a este desafío y ha tenido el empeño y el esfuerzo de ir recogiendo y compartiendo las tendencias y cuestiones planteadas en el marco de la investigación a lo largo de sus 20 años de andadura, creando un punto de referencia diferenciador y un espacio compartido donde debatir hacia dónde se encaminan las estrategias corporativas, de marcas y medios, ante sus públicos. El tema eje de este encuentro que tuvo lugar los días 7 y 8 febrero de 2019 fue organizado en la Universidad CEU San Pablo y abordó precisamente cuestiones sobre comunicación en la sociedad digital: reputación, big data -audiencia y medios, ante un público cambiante. El libro se estructura en tres temáticas claramente diferenciadas en las que se aglutinaron las distintas ponencias que aquí vienen recogidas. La primera versa sobre los desafíos y oportunidades en la gestión de intangibles, la segunda sobre big data y audiencias; cómo ser relevantes para los distintos públicos y la tercera parte sobre cómo establecen las estrategias los distintos medios ante una personalización del consumo. En la primera parte, “Desafíos y oportunidades en la gestión de Intangibles y reputación en comunicación” los investigadores reflexionan sobre el incremento de la variable reputación como activo intangible que repercute de forma directa en el negocio empresarial. Son numerosos los estudios que revelan que las empresas con buena reputación son más valiosas, pero pocas organizaciones se encuentran preparadas para la gestión de este activo que pasa por trabajar la relación con los distintos stackeholders. La segunda temática, “Big data y audiencias; cómo ser relevantes para los distintos públicos”, se trata sobre cómo en los últimos años casi todas las grandes corporaciones invierten e investigan sobre el uso y manejo de datos de sus consumidores y sobre la necesidad de personalizar sus acciones de comunicación para lograr ser relevantes y ponerlas en valor para sus públicos. Dos áreas de gran importancia no solo para las empresas sino también para los medios de comunicación. Por otro lado, también se reflexiona sobre el conocimiento cada vez mayor de a quiénes se dirigen medios y corporaciones, lo que pone al descubierto la vulnerabilidad de esos mismos públicos. La tercera y última parte del libro, “La personalización del consumo, el nuevo reto de los medios”, se trata la cada vez mayor omnipresencia tecnológica en los hogares a través de los distintos dispositivos, así como el acceso masivo a la banda ancha en el hogar. Una realidad que está configurando nuevas formas de consumir contenidos y que tiende cada vez más a ser personalizado en donde medios de comunicación,agencias y anunciantes se encuentran ante el reto de diferenciarse, ofreciendo valor añadido a los públicos actuales y potenciales para proporcionar información mucho más completa y atractiva. No quisiera terminar sin agradecer por un lado a los distintos investigadores que han contribuido con sus comunicaciones a este libro y a los profesionales que durante dos días participaron con sus ponencias acortando esa distancia entre el mundo profesional y académico. Y, por otro lado, a Juan Benavides, presidente del Foro, que con su buen hacer, su entusiasmo incansable y esa manera tan serena y discreta de dirigir esta asociación sigue siendo fuente de inspiración para todos.
