jamia ahmadiyya: The Essence of Waqf-e-Nau Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, 2018-06-01 Thirty-one years after the Waqf-e-Nau initiative was launched, there are now over 61,000 Waqf-e-Nau in the world. In the hopes that they will serve the Community in various capacities, these young devotees are placed into the initiative by their parents. Yet, despite having a large number of children enrolled in the initiative, many are unaware of the true significance of being Waqf-e-Nau. The Essence of Waqf-e-Nau is a translation of a Friday Sermon delivered by the worldwide head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad(at) on October 28th, 2016. In this sermon, His Holiness espouses the true essence of the Waqf-e-Nau initiative. The purpose is to raise children to be devotees of the Community, those who are willing to lay down their lives and spiritually attain lofty heights, just as the companions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad(sa) had done. Having a Waqf-e-Nau child does not deem any merit on its own. His Holiness stresses the point that these children are not special just by being Waqf-e-Nau. Rather, they will be seen as special by Allah only if they uphold their responsibilities and become true, ardent servants of Allah. Just as Hazrat Maryam(as) devoted her unborn child in the way of God, it is the parent’s duty to raise their children with the proper intention and sincerity. |
jamia ahmadiyya: Haqiqatul-Wahi Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, 2018-06-01 In this book the Promised Messiah, on whom be peace, discusses the philosophy of divine revelation, the three categories of people who claim to receive revelation, and the distinction of the truthful from the false. He then establishes his truthfulness by documenting over 200 Signs, including the fulfillment of prophecies made by the Holy Prophet Muhammad, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, other men of God, earlier scriptures, and his own revelations spanning over twenty-five years. The author cites numerous examples of his enemies who publicly predicted his downfall and demise, only to become the very victims of their own prophecies. God, however, protected him against every assault, while continuously reassuring him of His promise to bless his Community—a promise which continues to bear the seal and testimony of history. The author also appeals to the followers of different faiths to read this book cover to cover to appreciate and accept this evidence as proof that God is One and the Holy Prophet Muhammad is the Messenger of God, and that he is the Promised Messiah raised to unite humanity under the banner of Islam. |
jamia ahmadiyya: Malfuzat – Volume I Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, 2018-06-01 “Malfuzat” refers to the holy and insightful words of the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, the Promised Messiah and Mahdi, on whom be peace, which he expressed verbally from time to time in his pure and holy gatherings or before congregations at the Annual Convention, for the purification of his followers and for their spiritual and moral training, thus enabling them to forge a living relationship with God; to teach the knowledge and wisdom of the Holy Quran; to revive the religion of Islam and to establish the shariah of Muhammad, peace be upon him. |
jamia ahmadiyya: The Advent of the Promised Messiah Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, 2016-06-01 At a time when injustice, immorality and sin ran rampant, the religion of Islam dawned to revive the bond between humanity and its Creator, and to establish peace in the world. It was at the hand of the Prophet of Islam that an unparalleled moral and spiritual transformation took place. But the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, prophesied that a time would come when the true teachings of Islam would be forgotten and at this time a divinely appointed reformer would appear to rejuvenate Islam. In fulfilment of this prophecy, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, peace be upon him, appeared in Qadian, India, and claimed to be the divinely appointed reformer awaited by all the world religions. This book comprises an address delivered by the Promised Messiah, in which he speaks about the purpose of his advent and what it means to be an Ahmadi. |
jamia ahmadiyya: Khalifatul-Masih III - Hazrat Mirza Nasir Ahmad Sarah Ammar, 2025-02-11 Ancient scriptures prophesied that when the Messiah would appear his spiritual kingdom would pass onto his son and grandson. It was the birth of the eldest son of Hazrat Mirza Bashir-ud-Din Mahmud Ahmad(ra) - Hazrat Mirza Nasir Ahmad - and his election as the third Khalifah of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community that saw the fulfilment of this prophecy. Hazrat Mirza Nasir Ahmad(rh) was elected as the third Khalifah in 1965. During his tenure of Khilafat the Community grew from strength to strength despite the ever growing storm of opposition. This is a brief account of this holy individual in whose time the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community achieved many milestones, a blessed person who touched the hearts of millions around the world and who shall forever be remembered. |

jamia ahmadiyya: Far from the Caliph's Gaze Nicholas H. A. Evans, 2020-05-15 How do you prove that you're Muslim? This is not a question that most believers ever have to ask themselves, and yet for members of India's Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, it poses an existential challenge. The Ahmadis are the minority of a minority—people for whom simply being Muslim is a challenge. They must constantly ask the question: What evidence could ever be sufficient to prove that I belong to the faith? In Far from the Caliph's Gaze Nicholas H. A. Evans explores how a need to respond to this question shapes the lives of Ahmadis in Qadian in northern India. Qadian was the birthplace of the Ahmadiyya community's founder, and it remains a location of huge spiritual importance for members of the community around the world. Nonetheless, it has been physically separated from the Ahmadis' spiritual leader—the caliph—since partition, and the believers who live there now and act as its guardians must confront daily the reality of this separation even while attempting to make their Muslimness verifiable. By exploring the centrality of this separation to the ethics of everyday life in Qadian, Far from the Caliph's Gaze presents a new model for the academic study of religious doubt, one that is not premised on a concept of belief but instead captures the richness with which people might experience problematic relationships to truth. |

Bowker LLC. All Rights Reserved. Summary The Ahmadis : Community, Gender, and Politics in a Muslim Society by Gualtieri, Antonio Terms of use Ahmadi Muslims are in a minority wherever they live. They are strongly committed to supernatural revelation and governance by the divine. They maintain exacting standards of authority, family life, and relations between the sexes. They are despised by Muslim fundamentalists. They have endured hostility, imprisonment, and mob violence. However, in this sequel to his previous work with the Ahmadi, Gualtieri (religion emeritus, Carlton U.) finds they seek to maintain their identity and remain apart, even amongst the Sunni in Pakistan. Gualtieri includes new interviews with elders, families, and women seeking education, examines the conditions of Ahmadi communities after 9/11, and their continued rejection of modernity in any aspect of their lives. He also examines some of the charges their enemies have leveled at them, including Zionism, and the very limited hope that they ever be allowed a state of their own in Pakistan as an indigenous people. jamia ahmadiyya: Revelation, Rationality, Knowledge & Truth Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad, 1998-06-30 Any divide between revelation and rationality, religion and logic has to be irrational. If religion and rationality cannot proceed hand in hand, there has to be something deeply wrong with either of the two. Does revelation play any vital role in human affairs? Is not rationality sufficient to guide man in all the problems which confront him? Numerous questions such as these are examined with minute attention. All major issues which intrigue the modern mind are attempted to be incorporated in this fascinatingly comprehensive statute. Whatever the intellectual or educational background of the reader, this book is bound to offer him something of his interest. It examines a very diverse and wide range of subjects including the concept of revelation in different religions, history of philosophy, cosmology, extraterrestrial life, the future of life on earth, natural selection and its role in evolution. It also elaborately discusses the advent of the Messiah, or other universal reformers, awaited by different religions. Likewise, many other topical issues which have been agitating the human mind since time immemorial are also incorporated. The main emphasis is on the ability of the Quran to correctly discuss all important events of the past, present and future from the beginning of the universe to its ultimate end. Aided by strong incontrovertible logic and scientific evidence, the Quran does not shy away from presenting itself to the merciless scrutiny of rationality. It will be hard to find a reader whose queries are not satisfactorily answered. We hope that most readers will testify that this will always stand out as a book among books – perhaps the greatest literary achievement of this century. |
jamia ahmadiyya: Wings of Duty Syed Muhammad Ahmad, 2018-01-01 Wings of Duty is the story of the two Stinson L-5 planes purchased by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community during the Partition of India and the men who flew them. Drawing on his memories as one of the pilots of these planes, Syed Muhammad Ahmad writes a gripping narrative that is exhilarating to read and also tells a powerful tale of sacrifice, endurance and triumph over adversity that vividly brings to life the events of this time. |
jamia ahmadiyya: The Blessed Model of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) and the Caricatures Mirza Masroor Ahmad, 2006 Shock waves of indignation ran across the Muslim world following the recent publication of offensive and crude caricatures of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in some parts of Europe. The un-informed, as ever, misled by the mullah gave in to public display of rage and rampant chaos ensued. Midst this confusion of an undeniably distressing time for all Muslims, spoke the voice of reason, calm and peace, precisely in line with the teachings of the 'prince of peace' himself, the Holy Prophet (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). This was the voice of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (may Allah be his Helper) that unfolded the reality of the Islamic ways and means to respond to injustice; calling for peace, reasoning, endeavour to enlighten the world with the power of the pen and ultimately to always put one's trust in sincere prayers. He delivered a series of five faith-inspiring and enlightening Friday Sermons on the subject that are a beckon of light for anyone in this often perplexing world that we live in. These Friday Sermons are being presented in this booklet. |
jamia ahmadiyya: True Love for the Holy Prophet Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, 2012-11-02 Recently there has been an international conspiracy against Islam and its Holy Founder the Holy Prophet Muhammad (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). To use vulgar language, obscene descriptions, distortion of the teachings of Islam and the noble character of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, negative propaganda, blasphemous criticism of the most Noble of the Prophets, and Islam - all this is done in the name of free speech and western civilized values. The Imam and the Supreme Head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih V delivered his Friday Sermon on September 21, 2012 at Baitul-Futuh Mosque in Morden, Surrey UK in response to the film Innocence of Muslims and the publication of cartoons in France depicting the Holy Prophet Muhammad (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). In this Sermon His Holiness set out what our response as Ahmadi Muslims must be. In this booklet we are presenting the English translation of this Sermon for the guidance of every one. |

jamia ahmadiyya: Islam and the Ahmadiyya Jamaʻat Simon Ross Valentine, 2008 Simon Ross Valentine has written the first scholarly evaluation of the teachings, beliefs, and lifestyle of the Ahmaddiya Jama'at, an Islamic reform group founded in nineteenth-century India that currently boasts millions of followers worldwide. To the great aggravation of other Muslims, the Ahmadis assert that prophets existed after Muhammad, a controversial belief that has led to fierce persecution, especially in South Asia, where the government has declared the Ahmadis to be non-Muslims. Valentine explores other major claims made by the Ahmadis, including their assertion that Jesus, instead of dying on the cross (as Christians believe) or ascending to heaven after the crucifixion (as mainstream Muslims teach), in fact escaped from the Romans and settled in Srinagar, the capital of Kashmir and the alleged location of Christ's tomb. After an account of the life of the movement's founder, Ghulam Mirza Ahmad, Valentine discusses the history of the Ahmadis, their proselytization strategies, the role of mosques and madrasas, the position of women within the religion, and the Ahmadis' doctrine of a peaceful jihad. |
jamia ahmadiyya: Handbook of Nordic New Religions , 2015-06-24 When James R. Lewis, one of the editors of the current collection, first moved to Norway in late 2009, he was unprepared to discover that so many researchers in Nordic countries were producing innovative scholarship on new religions and on the new age subculture. In fact, over the past dozen years or so, an increasingly disproportionate percentage of new religions scholars have arisen in Nordic countries and teach at universities in Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and the Baltic countries. Nordic New Religions, co-edited with Inga B. Tøllefsen, surveys this rich field of study in this area of the world, focusing on the scholarship being produced by scholars in this region of northern Europe. |
jamia ahmadiyya: Ahmadiyya Islam and the Muslim Diaspora Marzia Balzani, 2020-01-20 This book is a study of the UK-based Ahmadiyya Muslim community in the context of the twentieth-century South Asian diaspora. Originating in late nineteenth-century Punjab, the Ahmadis are today a vibrant international religious movement; they are also a group that has been declared heretic by other Muslims and one that continues to face persecution in Pakistan, the country the Ahmadis made their home after the partition of India in 1947. Structured as a series of case studies, the book focuses on the ways in which the Ahmadis balance the demands of faith, community and modern life in the diaspora. Following an overview of the history and beliefs of the Ahmadis, the chapters examine in turn the use of ceremonial occasions to consolidate a diverse international community; the paradoxical survival of the enchantments of dreams and charisma within the structures of an institutional bureaucracy; asylum claims and the ways in which the plight of asylum seekers has been strategically deployed to position the Ahmadis on the UK political stage; and how the planning and building of mosques serves to establish a home within the diaspora. Based on fieldwork conducted over several years in a range of formal and informal contexts, this timely book will be of interest to an interdisciplinary audience from social and cultural anthropology, South Asian studies, the study of Islam and of Muslims in Europe, refugee, asylum and diaspora studies, as well as more generally religious studies and history. |

jamia ahmadiyya: The Religions of Canadians Jamie S Scott, 2012-03-15 The Religions of Canadians is a book about religions and the making of Canada. Drawing on the expert knowledge and personal insights of scholars in history, the social sciences, and the phenomenology of religion, separate chapters introduce the beliefs and practices of nine religious traditions, some mainstream, some less familiar. The opening chapter explores how Aboriginal Canadian traditions continue to thrive after centuries of oppression. Subsequent chapters follow in the footsteps of Catholic and Protestant Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, and Baha'is as they have made their way to Canada, and reveal how different immigrant communities have adapted their rich religious heritages to a new life in a new land. Each chapter is divided into five sections: an introduction; a succinct overview of the tradition; its passage to and transformation in Canada; a close study of contemporary Canadian communities; and an afterword suggesting possibilities for future research. Chapters conclude with a list of important terms and dates, related websites, a concise bibliography of further readings, and key questions for reflection. The Religions of Canadians is a timely and unique contribution to the field, introducing readers to the religions of the world while simultaneously building an overall picture of the development of Canada's multicultural, pluralist society. |

jamia ahmadiyya: The Precarious Diasporas of Sikh and Ahmadiyya Generations Michael Nijhawan, 2016-09-08 This book examines the long-term effects of violence on the everyday cultural and religious practices of a younger generation of Ahmadis and Sikhs in Frankfurt, Germany and Toronto, Canada. Comparative in scope and the first to discuss contemporary articulations of Sikh and Ahmadiyya identities within a single frame of reference, the book assembles a significant range of empirical data gathered over ten years of ethnographic fieldwork. In its focus on precarious sites of identity formation, the volume engages with cutting-edge theories in the fields of critical diaspora studies, migration and refugee studies, religion, secularism, and politics. It presents a novel approach to the reading of Ahmadi and Sikh subjectivities in the current climate of anti-immigrant movements and suspicion against religious others. Michael Nijhawan also offers new insights into what animates emerging movements of the youth and their attempts to reclaim forms of the spiritual and political. |
jamia ahmadiyya: Ahmadi and Christian Socio-Political Responses to Pakistan’s Blasphemy Laws Qaiser Julius, 2017-09-30 The roots of Pakistan’s blasphemy laws can be traced back to the British colonial rule in India, but their harsher clauses were added to the Pakistan Penal Code during a wave of intense Islamization in the 1980s. Everyone in Pakistan is threatened by the misuse of these laws, even Muslims; however a disproportionate number of victims targeted by these laws have come from two minority groups, the Ahmadis and Christians. Dr Qaiser Julius focuses on how these two groups have been affected by Pakistan’s blasphemy laws, their different reactions to these laws, and more specifically, why they are responding differently despite living under the same circumstances. In this well-structured and understandable study, Julius provides a valuable tool for Christians to understand what it means to be a minority in a hostile culture. This thorough analysis presents a way forward for the Christian church in Pakistan, providing hope amidst the discrimination and persecution. |

jamia ahmadiyya: A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SIKHS (MULTIDIMENSIONAL SIKH STRUGGLES) Devinder Singh Mangat, 2023-02-11 A Brief History of the Sikhs attempts to highlight that the inhabitants of Punjab have been free spirited, accommodating and companionate towards the peaceful settlers. But they were not accommodating towards the invaders from the north west. They accepted the new ideas like Sufism and the Bhakti movements with open arms. Out of the synthesis of the two, Sikhism was born. The Sikhs carried on their free spirited approach towards the Punjabi nationalism and onwards to uncompromising nationalist approach for the independence of India from the British slavery in 1947. Unlike other communities, the Punjabis fought against a common enemy not among themselves. The Punjabis have been hard working, honest, peace loving and pushing, irrespective of their ethnicity. The Muslims, Hindus and the Sikhs stood for the Punjabiat. That is what the, A Brief History of the Sikhs stands for. |

jamia ahmadiyya: Islamic Connections R Michael Feener, Terenjit Sevea, 2009 Well over half of the world's Muslim population lives in Asia. Over the centuries, a rich constellation of Muslim cultures developed there and the region is currently home to some of the most dynamic and important developments in contemporary Islam. Despite this, the internal dynamics of Muslim societies in Asia do not often receive commensurate attention in international Islamic Studies scholarship. This volume brings together the work of an interdisciplinary group of scholars discussing various aspects of the complex relationships between the Muslim communities of South and Southeast Asia. With their respective contributions covering points and patterns of interaction from the medieval to the contemporary periods, they attempt to map new trajectories for understanding the ways in which these two crucial areas have developed in relation to each other, as well as in the broader contexts of both world history and the current age of globalization. |
jamia ahmadiyya: The Detroit Address Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad, 2018-06-01 The United States has been plagued with issues of racial tension since its inception and the issue of racial inequality continues to be at the heart of unrest within the country. The Detroit Address is a Friday Sermon delivered by Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad(rh), the Fourth Khalifah of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, on October 16th, 1987, in Detroit to the members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. In it, he pinpoints factors that have caused racial tension in some communities in the United States, and presents Islam’s longstanding rejection of the notion that any one race if superior to another. The root cause of tension between Pakistani and African American Ahmadis is found to be an inferiority complex in some members of the Community. Giving the example of the people of Nuh(as) [Noah], Ahmadis are warned that failure to change their ways and adopt mutual love and compassion between one another will result in an unfortunate fate for both themselves and their nation. He admonishes the American members of the Community to break the chains of societal and psychological oppression by urgently re-examining their way of life in light of the character of the Holy Prophet of Islam(sa). |

jamia ahmadiyya: True Justice and Peace Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, 2017-01-01 The root cause of the unrest in the world today is due to a lack of justice found at every level of society. Only by recognizing its Creator, can mankind hope to establish true justice and usher in an era of individual, communal, and global peace. This brief treatise is a transcript of the concluding address by Hazrat Mirza Masoor Ahmad (aba), Fifth Successor the Promised Messiah (as) and Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, at the Annual Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community UK held on August 23, 2015. |
