Its major aim is to serve as a compendium which touches different major aspects of NPE as it has been observed that earlier works in this area have focused only on one aspect or the other. It will offer a broad survey of the form and functions of Nigerian Pidgin (NP) in different domains. The book promises to investigate the use of NP in such domains as popular culture, advertisement, social media and online discussion fora. If you have not heard the legend of La Louchiana the Archangel, how can you judge if she ever was? You know, you could have already run across her and not even know it. Next time you see an unmarked picture or statue of an angel with very large wings, beautiful, about twenty years old, with deep, wide brown eyes that seem to look deep into your soul, holding this mighty sword, or then again a painting or statue of a beautiful lightly clad woman with deep, wide brown eyes, no wings, no sword, but her beauty shocks you deep inside, and to this day, you still remember her, or then she might have just passed you by. This doesn’t mean she never existed. I can only say maybe you aren’t ugly enough. You see, it never ends for her. Next time you see a young beautiful woman with deep brown eyes, look deep into them—could this be? You think? You better find and read the story then decide.

There are scams in Nigeria but don't label all Nigerian as scammers, there are scams in Hong Kong too. There is drug trafficking in Nigeria but don't label all Nigerian as drug peddlers, there is drug trafficking in Mexico too. What follows in this book shall give a window into the consciousness of the minds housing Nigerian stereotypes. Please be mindful that along the way the filter of typecasts will cloud your vision. Therefore, through my narrative based on first-hand experiences, I invite you to get to know what Nigeria and Nigerians are all about. Remember, oftentimes the reality is far more attractive and superior than what we dare to acknowledge.
