hajj ifrad guide: Tell Me About Hajj (Goodword) Saniyasnain Khan, 2014-02-04 The story of Hajj, the pilgrimage to Makkah, begins over 4000 years ago when, following the Divine command, the Prophet Ibrahim travelled for a long distance till he reached the hot, barren lands of Arabia. There he left his wife, Hagar, and his little baby, Ismail. The story goes on to tell how Hagar struggled to find water for her baby and how at last the miraculous Zamzam spring came gushing out and saved their lives. This is followed by the great sacrifice of Ibrahim, the building of the Kabah and the call to Hajj. This book explains the importance of the annual pilgrimage—one of the pillars of Islam—with a special focus on the Prophet Muhammad’s Hajj. hajj ifrad guide: Hajj Booklet Moulana Sadiq Hasan - XKP, 2015-11-06 Hajj is an important cornerstone of Islam. It is a great worship and an important responsibility which must be discharged by those who are able, irrespective of age or gender. If Hajj becomes wajib but is not performed the person dies the death of a Jew or a Christian and will be raised on the day of judgement as a Jew or a Christian. One who performs Hajj is blessed with the forgiveness of all his sins and he becomes as pure as he was when he was born. Thus it is the duty of all to discharge this important responsibility and not to be negligent about it. For the Hajj to be accepted it should be performed as per the rules ordained by the shariat (Islamic law). His book Al-Nihayah fi Mojarrad al-Fiqh wa al-Fatawa (A Concise Description of Islamic Law and Legal Opinions) has been recognised as one of the major early sources, references and textbooks in the field of Islamic Law in general and of Shi'a Islamic law in particular. hajj ifrad guide: Converting Persia Rula Abisaab, 2015-10-30 'Converting Persia' explains how Iran was to acquire one of its defining characteristics: its Shi'ism. Under the Safavids (1501-1736 CE), Persia adopted Shi'ism as its official religion. Rula Abisaab explains how and why this specific brand of Shi'ism - urban and legally-based - was brought to the region by leading Arab 'Ulama from Ottoman Syria, and changed the face of the region till this day. These emigre scholars furnished distinct sources of legitimacy for the Safavid monarchs, and an ideological defense against the Ottomans. Just as important at the time was a conscious and vivid process of Persianization both at the state level and in society. Converting Persia is vital reading for anthropologists, historians and scholars of religion, and any interested in Safavid Persia, in Shi'ism, and in the wider history of the Middle East. |
