her seven little bodyguards: Steel 7 Stephanie Brother, 2022-01-05 Seven bodyguards are hired to keep me safe, but I want so much more than their protection. It's my first world tour, and my record company is nervous. They've crafted my innocent image and focused on marketing my appearance ahead of my talent, so they shouldn't be surprised at the dangers I'm facing. Girls like me are magnets for stalkers. When Steel 7 Security is employed to safeguard my trip, I expect my bodyguards to be middle-aged ex-cops with donut-bellies. My seven bodyguards couldn't be more different. Connor, Elijah, Ben, Asher, Jax, Hudson, and Mo are huge, powerful ex-military men with bodies made to protect and an impeccably rigorous attitude to my safety. They have nerves of steel, their eyes are watchful, and their attitudes are professional, but I can't help noticing how their gazes linger on my body and I can't help feeling the electricity between us whenever we're together. They're a team of specialists, hired to protect me. They know better than to fall for someone they're supposed to keep safe. But with every glance, every accidental touch, every word, I can feel their steely exteriors melting away. They're with me through the lonely days and long nights on the road. I can't hide beneath my well-crafted veneer when they're with me twenty-four hours a day. Slowly, they make me feel like nothing can ever touch me apart from them. I know it's risky. If the press discovers our secret, my image will shatter, and their careers will be over, but their magnetic pull is too strong to resist. How can they protect me when the connection between us is the very thing that puts me in danger?

her seven little bodyguards: My Three Childhoods Lucy Wu Mainer, 2018-09-29 My Three Childhoods takes readers on a journey of Lucy Wu Mainer’s riveting, one-of-a-kind experience that included her having to face adult responsibilities at a very young age, complete a challenging education while being torn from home to home, making it to America, facing language and school challenges, and eventually making it to retirement and recapturing the childhood she never had. Lucy says studying hard, working hard, and playing hard, while maintaining a positive attitude, is what helped her survive her harrowing childhood experiences. “I was born to escape the Japanese invasion of China,” Lucy says of her life. She and her family were forced to leave their beloved home and resettle in many cities in China, Vietnam, and Burma, always one step ahead of the atrocities of not one, but two wars. Through a strict upbringing, Lucy reveals her inner sense of justice, fairness and distinguishing right from wrong. Like a bird, predestined to fly, Lucy yearned for independence. In America, she worked for years at the United Nations, where she met some very influential and famous people. She received an Ed.D in the United States and taught for 30 years in the New York City public school system. She studied painting at the Art Student League in New York City under John Howard Sandon, Mario Cooper, and Edgar Whitney and others. Her paintings were shown at eight solo exhibits throughout New York and Staten Island. Lucy received many awards for her paintings in group exhibits. In My Three Childhood, Lucy shares the secret ingredient needed to overcome hardship, find passion, and overcome challenges. Retirement permits Lucy to brag about her age, for deep down she has kept a young-at-heart attitude throughout life, never allowing herself to believe that she’s “too old” or frail to try anything new. “This book will open the eyes of the world to the ambition, drive, and courage of international students like Lucy who contribute to America’s greatness.” —Virginia Castleman, Author, Sara Lost and Found

her seven little bodyguards: Time's-a-Marchin' Michael Viola, 2013-02-07 Mike Viola’s work has universal appeal, having as its subject the daily events and situations that touch the lives of people everywhere. During his long career with The Philadelphia Inquirer, he met and conquered the challenge of every assignment. In this publications, twelve categories and approximately 350 photographs are presented to give the reader insight into the scope of Mike’s work. Even in what sometimes seemed like an “ordinary” assignment became the extraordinary front page photograph in the hands (and heart) of this master photographer. The photographs in this volume were taken by staff photographer Mike Viola for The Philadelphia Inquirer from 1964 to 1988. As they sipped their morning coffee, readers were accustomed to seeing the familiar byline under a photograph that, indeed needed no byline. Whatever the subject, there was no mistaken his inimitable style. Aside from their newsworthy content, Mike’s black and white prints are perfect studies in form, contrast, mood and balance. When he was just 13 and living in rural Brazos County, Texas, Mike received a small Kodak camera. He looked through its viewfinder and clicked the shutter, but had no idea the role it would play in his life. Four years later the Navy offered him an opportunity to serve as a photographer’s striker aboard the USS Miami and the click of that small Kodak camera resounded again and again throughout a career dedicated to excellence. Mike Viola served in the Navy from 1944 to 1947. He photographed activity in the Pacific and participated in Operation Crossroads aboard the carrier USS Saidor as photographic specialist in connection with the Bikini Atomic Bomb tests in July 1946. In 1964, Mike won the Look Magazine Sports Photo Award and throughout his twenty-five years as a staff photographer with The Philadelphia Inquirer, has won numerous awards given by the Press Photographers Association of Philadelphia, The Pennsylvania Press Photographers Association, the Pennsylvania Newspaper Publishers Association, the Associated Press Managing Editors of Pennsylvania, the New Jersey Press Association, the National Headliners Awards and the Society of Professional Journalist, Sigma Delta Chi. Mike was also a member of The Inquirer staff team awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1980, for their report on the Three Mile Island accident. Mike Viola is retired and lives in Philadelphia with his wife Kitty of 62 years, and their two Pomeranians, Coco and Bindi.

Even centuries later, the final decades of the twentieth century are still regarded -- by those who know the truth of what really happened -- as one of the darkest and most perilous chapters in the history of humanity. Now, as an ancient and forbidden technology tempts mankind once more, Captain James T. Kirk of the Starship Enterprise™ must probe deep into the secrets of the past, to discover the true origins of the dreaded Eugenics Wars -- and of perhaps the greatest foe he has ever faced. 1974 A.D. An international consortium of the world's top scientists have conspired to create the Chrysalis Project, a top-secret experiment in human genetic engineering. The project's goal is nothing less than the creation of a new, artificially improved breed of men and women: smarter, faster, stronger than ordinary human beings, a super-race to take command of the entire planet. Gary Seven, an undercover operative for an advanced alien species, is alarmed by the project's objectives; he knows too well the apocalyptic consequences of genetic manipulation. With his trusted agents, Roberta Lincoln and the mysterious Isis, he will risk life and limb to uncover Chrysalis' insidious designs and neutralize the awesome threat that the Project poses to the future. But he may already be too late. One generation of super-humans has already been conceived. As the years go by, Seven watches with growing concern as the children of Chrysalis -- in particular, a brilliant youth named Khan Noonien Singh -- grow to adulthood. Can Khan's dark destiny be averted -- or is Earth doomed to fight a global battle for supremacy?
her seven little bodyguards: Elvis and Ginger Ginger Alden, 2014 ELVIS PRESLEY'S FIANCÉE AND LAST LOVE FINALLY TELLS HER STORY Elvis, you and I know the truth and unfortunately you're not here to set the record straight. With this book, I will try to... Elvis Presley and Graceland were fixtures in the life of Ginger Alden, having been born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. But she had no idea that she would play a part in that enduring legacy - as Elvis Presley's fiancée, and his last great love. For over three decades Ginger has held the truth of their relationship close to her heart. Now she shares her unique story, and while a lot has been written about the King, the Elvis we meet in this long-anticipated memoir is a revelation. In her own words Ginger details their whirlwind romance - from first kiss to his stunning proposal of marriage. She details his exploration of Eastern religions, his perception of being a legend, his devotion to family and friends, and her attempt to know the insular group surrounding Elvis. And for the very first time she talks about the devastating end of it all, and the 50,000 mourners and reporters who descended on Graceland in 1977, exposing Ginger to the reality of living in the spotlight of a short, yet immortal, life. Above it all, Alden rescues Elvis from the hearsay, rumors, and tabloid speculations of his final year by shedding a frank yet personal light on a very public legend. From a unique and intimate perspective, she reveals the man - complicated, romantic, fallible, and human - behind the enduring myth, a superstar worshipped by millions, and loved by Ginger Alden.   her seven little bodyguards: The End of Seven Mary Dove, 2017-12-12 There is an enigmatic quality about the number seven that transcends time and culture. It can symbolize luck – or represent an ominous warning. So it was in the time of the Roman Empire in the first century. For the citizens of Pompeii, it was the end of life as they knew it, and nothing would ever be the same again after the seventh month of AD 79. The first of July reunites an ancient dysfunctional family at their sumptuous new villa in the shadow of Vesuvius. The daughter is desperate to avoid her father’s intentions to arrange her marriage. She is romantic, longing to experience the emotions described by her favored poets. The only child of a first marriage, she suffers guilt over her mother’s death in childbirth. Every bit the gilded age debutante of another era, she finds herself tempted by feelings for someone most unsuitable. Her brother is an arrogant dandy with a passion for the games, whose indulgent excesses are cries for attention, his ambition fueled by massive gambling debts. Their father is a veteran of the Britannic campaigns. Aggressive to build his own empire, he ruthlessly married two women for their fortunes, but secretly prefers his relations with men. The last 18 years have been devoted to cultivating his business instead of his family, and he is a rich man. With the death of the Emperor, he fears time is running out to form his legacy. His second wife, sixteen years his junior, is struggling to cope with the insecurity of her position in life, and her dependence on alcohol. She relieves her hatred of men and sexual tensions by purchasing the services of the infamous. As July passes the harmony of the family is disturbed by the presence of a Greek slave, an artist commissioned to paint the murals adorning the villa. Possessed with the gift of prophecy from the Oracle of Delphi, he foretells an imminent warning, ‘the end of seven’. What does it mean? Was it a matter of destiny or fate? The rhetorical argument intrigues the Romans. Their world shakes with tremors and begins to fall apart as the eighth months unfolds. Who will heed the warning before the volcano erupts suddenly on August 24th? Who will live – and who will die… The End of Seven is an historical novel that portrays the evocative opulence of the pagan world in a time of moral ambiguity and diverse wealth. The catastrophic destruction of Pompeii has intrigued generations since its’ discovery. Here is a story with characters so compelling, so vivid, the reader will not want to put the book down to leave their world.
