heart structure and cardiac cycle questions answers: Cardiovascular System: Questions and Answers: An Aid for Learners Urban John Arnold D'Souza, Mohd Firdaus bin Mohd Hayati, Firrul bin Masnah @ Kadir, Nornazirah binti Azizan, Vishnudas Prabhu, 2021-08-19 This short book focuses on the possible examination questions and their answers on the cardio-vascular system. In the era of modern technology and the internet of things, student learning has gone beyond the approved textbooks and teachers due to the overload of information that is easily available on the internet using different search engines. The trend and fashion are so deep-rooted to the extent that the Google search engine is the ‘Bible’ for everyone. These days’ students do a common mistake of going through information overload and assuming the information available on the web as knowledge. It is very well true for medical students; information overload confuses the mind and focus of study. This book aids a learner of the cardiovascular system, to know the appropriate depth of knowledge that one needs to know. In the evaluation-based academic assessment, student knowledge is measured by different methods of assessment tools such as written examinations such as long essay, short essay, viva-voce, etc. This book provides comprehensive and concise knowledge based on a question so that a student develops an awareness that helps to frame the answer required for a question.
heart structure and cardiac cycle questions answers: Examination Questions and Answers in Basic Anatomy and Physiology Martin Caon, 2018-04-06 This second edition provides 2400 multiple choice questions on human anatomy and physiology, and some physical science, separated into 40 categories. The answer to each question is accompanied by an explanation. Each category has an introduction to set the scene for the questions to come. However, not all possible information is provided within these Introductions, so an Anatomy and Physiology textbook is an indispensable aid to understanding the answers. The questions have been used in end-of-semester examinations for undergraduate anatomy and physiology courses and as such reflect the focus of these particular courses and are pitched at this level to challenge students that are beginning their training in anatomy and physiology. The question and answer combinations are intended for use by teachers, to select questions for their next examinations, and by students, when studying for an upcoming test. Students enrolled in the courses for which these questions were written include nursing, midwifery, paramedic, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nutrition and dietetics, health sciences, exercise science, and students taking an anatomy and physiology course as an elective.

heart structure and cardiac cycle questions answers: Regulation of Tissue Oxygenation, Second Edition Roland N. Pittman, 2016-08-18 This presentation describes various aspects of the regulation of tissue oxygenation, including the roles of the circulatory system, respiratory system, and blood, the carrier of oxygen within these components of the cardiorespiratory system. The respiratory system takes oxygen from the atmosphere and transports it by diffusion from the air in the alveoli to the blood flowing through the pulmonary capillaries. The cardiovascular system then moves the oxygenated blood from the heart to the microcirculation of the various organs by convection, where oxygen is released from hemoglobin in the red blood cells and moves to the parenchymal cells of each tissue by diffusion. Oxygen that has diffused into cells is then utilized in the mitochondria to produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the energy currency of all cells. The mitochondria are able to produce ATP until the oxygen tension or PO2 on the cell surface falls to a critical level of about 4–5 mm Hg. Thus, in order to meet the energetic needs of cells, it is important to maintain a continuous supply of oxygen to the mitochondria at or above the critical PO2 . In order to accomplish this desired outcome, the cardiorespiratory system, including the blood, must be capable of regulation to ensure survival of all tissues under a wide range of circumstances. The purpose of this presentation is to provide basic information about the operation and regulation of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, as well as the properties of the blood and parenchymal cells, so that a fundamental understanding of the regulation of tissue oxygenation is achieved.
