Henry George Trout (1770-1852) and his regiment were sent to Quebec and to Upper Canada in 1792, and he married Rachel Emerson in 1798. They bought a hotel near Fort Erie, Ontario, which he managed, as well as running a ferry to Black Rock, New York.
