durga sahasranamam: Lalitha Sahasranamam With Meanings - Part 1 Ramaprasad.S & Srikala.B, 2024-09-19 Our routine, in a day's activities, unfailingly included the Paaraayana of Vishnu Sahashranaamam and Lalitha Sahasranaamam. A question to our own selves arose that a practice of routine Paaraayanam alone is not the End but only a Start of the QUEST in us to explore deeper into the contents and profoundness of the meaning of the Sahashra Naama on Maa Lalithambika. Sri Chakra and its geometrical portrayal, is a marvel, a well calculated scaling of the Yanthraya that can create wonders in a man's mystical thinking, if only focused with a pointed mind. It was during the Navratri Dussehra Celebrations 2021, we decided to make a humble attempt of describing 1000 Naamaas of Divine Maatha Sri Lalithambika in English exclusively for the benefit of the descendants, at least, to have the basic idea about the marvels of these Naamaas as chosen by the Vaag Devathaas. A pride and ignorance in us, that we could complete it in a short time, prevailed at the start and the budding of this attempt. We exercised meticulous care in collecting the information from various sources suited to the Naamaas and exercised care in remaining as Authentic as far as the possibilities took us along. This booklet contains only a miniscule understanding of the Vast Subject after we have set in our journey in the Philosophical and Vedantic studies at our convenience taking sources from all that are available to us and we are exposed to.

In all we have been blessed to write up to 248 Naamas in the First volume...   durga sahasranamam: The Nepalese Shamanic Path Evelyn C. Rysdyk, 2019-02-19 An experiential guide to the shamanic spiritual practices of the Himalayas shared by a 27th-generation Nepalese shaman • Presents step-by-step, illustrated instructions for authentic Himalayan shamanic practices, including physical and spiritual healing, shamanic journeys, and ceremonies • Includes exercises to meet the ancestors in your shamanic lineage, techniques to use your voice as a shamanic tool, and practices for negotiating the spirit world safely • Details shamanic chants and rituals, how to create an altar, and the sacred objects of the shaman, along with exercises and techniques for using them properly There are few areas of our world where shamanic traditions have been preserved in their original context and form. Nepal is one of these rare and special places. In the shadow of the Himalayas Nepalese shamans, known as dhamis or jhankris, are still consulted for healing and divination, as well as for providing comfort and maintaining harmony. Following the devastating earthquake in Nepal in 2015, shamanic teacher Evelyn Rysdyk and 27th-generation dhami Bhola Nath Banstola decided it was time to safeguard Nepalese shamanic knowledge for future generations by recording the practices in a book. With this comprehensive, experiential guide to the ancient spiritual traditions of Nepal, Rysdyk and Banstola present step-by-step instructions for authentic Himalayan shamanic practices, including techniques for physical and spiritual healing, shamanic journeys, and advanced ceremonies, such as the Kalchakra Katne, a shamanic ritual for removing toxic energies from an individual. They include exercises to help you meet the ancestors in your shamanic lineage, techniques to use your voice as a shamanic tool, and practices for negotiating the spirit world safely. They detail shamanic chants and rituals, how to create an altar, and how to use the sacred objects of the dhami/jhankri, including the mala, the magic mirror, the drum, and the Khurpa, the shaman’s magic dagger. Rysdyk and Banstola also examine the importance of Nepalese cosmology in shamanic ritual and spiritual deities such as Hanuman, Garuda, and the Nagas. Illustrated with photos and Rysdyk’s artwork, the book also explores the history of Nepal, its culture and myths, and the different ways Nepalese shamans serve their communities. Written specifically to share the traditional Himalayan shamanic method with the Western world, this guide not only preserves these ancient teachings but also reveals how they are still relevant in the modern world.

durga sahasranamam: Rising in Love Ram Das Batchelder, 2014-12-12 Rising in Love tells the story of the author's extraordinary spiritual awakening in America (which included meeting an angel), his discovery of Amma (the living Guru known in the West as “the Hugging Saint”), and the 27 amazing years he has spent in quest of Enlightenment as Amma’s devotee, most of that time in India. The book is a multi-faceted diamond. It is a suspenseful psychological thriller, a page-turner from the outset—yet there also much humor in the narrative, and at times reads like a comedic novel. From another angle, it is a story of profound healing from delusion, drug addiction and despair into a joyous and beautifully fulfilled life, and as such it is a ray of hope for all who suffer from addiction or mental illness of one kind or another.

durga sahasranamam: In Praise of the Goddess , 2003-12-01 About 16 centuries ago, an unknown Indian author or authors gathered together the diverse threads of already ancient traditions and wove them into a verbal tapestry that today is still the central text for worshippers of the Hindu Devi, the Divine Mother. This spiritual classic, the Devimahatmya, addresses the perennial questions of the nature of the universe, humankind, and divinity. How are they related, how do we live in a world torn between good and evil, and how do we find lasting satisfaction and inner peace? These questions and their answers form the substance of the Devimahatmya. Its narrative of a dispossessed king, a merchant betrayed by the family he loves, and a seer whose teaching leads beyond existential suffering sets the stage for a trilogy of myths concerning the all-powerful Divine Mother, Durga, and the fierce battles she wages against throngs of demonic foes. In these allegories, her adversaries represent our all-too-human impulses toward power, possessions, and pleasure. The battlefields symbolize the field of human consciousness on which our lives' dramas play out in joy and sorrow, in wisdom and folly. The Devimahatmya speaks to us across the ages of the experiences and beliefs of our ancient ancestors. We sense their enchantment at nature's bounty and their terror before its destructive fury, their recognition of the good and evil in the human heart, and their understanding that everything in our experience is the expression of a greater reality, personified as the Divine Mother.

One of the most dramatic and popular of these celebrations is the Durgā Pūjā, a rite noted for its visual pageantry, ritual complexity, and communal participation. In this book, Hillary Peter Rodrigues describes the Bengali style of Durgā Pūjā practiced in the sacred city of Banaras from beginning to end. A romanization of the Sanskrit litany is included along with an English translation. In addition to the liturgical description, Rodrigues provides information on the rite's component elements and mythic aspects. Rodrigues maintains that the Durgā Pūjā is a rite of cosmic rejuvenation, of empowerment at both the personal and social levels, and a rite that orchestrates manifestations of the feminine, both Divine and human.

The Significance of Rahu and Ketu in Vedic Astrology is realized positively and negatively in a person’s life. As a rising node of the moon, Rahu is known to cause spiritual growth and whenever it exists in a chart; the result is luxury and obsession. It’s a powerful node favorable to politicians as it presents opportunities and immense power to ascend in political affairs both justly and unjustly. Rahu also influences criminals, snakes as well as magicians just to mention a few. Rahu has the power to give wealth and make a person popular. At the same time, this shadow planet is likely to cause confusion, despair and emotional inequity. It’s very powerful in the 3rd, 6th and 11th houses of a horoscope. Ketu is a shadowy, descending and malefic planet but not as malefic as Rahu. Ketu offers liberation and nonattachment to material desires and worldly ambitions. It provides spiritual knowledge, power to differentiate, self-knowledge as well as wisdom. Whenever present in a chart, it gives a person psychic abilities. His first book, Adventures in Three Worlds, is a recollection of the events that happened in the author’s life and the lessons he learned. The second book, A Path to Discover, is like a treatise on the world’s reaction to the coronavirus, which people are still going through, one wave after another with new variants. This book, Voyage – Offshore Pioneering to Subjective Reality & Prasanthi, starts with the early days of Mumbai High development and goes on to discuss indigenization, where the oil and gas industry is heading versus renewable, and increased risk service providers are subjected to with the industry. The author then narrates his transition from the offshore oil and gas industry to ‘Subjective Reality, Sanatana Dharma and Peace’ in sunset years. He reminds of Adi Shankara’s teaching, ‘a duty-based life’ and not ‘a right based society’. The author concludes by suggesting the importance of spending time each day alone in silence to create an inner connection. Silence is a form of peace in every situation of life and has a meaning. Whether it is a slow period of life, a loss of a relationship or a loss of life, the silence it brings along has a purpose. The purpose is to understand life. Most people wake up to their day purposeless just to become a part of the race. When the period of silence comes into their life, they break down very easily because they never spent that much needed time to have a realization of the true meaning of life.
