caci interview questions: Our Good Name J. Phillip London, 2010-11-30 The Crisis That Rocked a Country and a Company... In April 2004, an illegally leaked U.S. Army report thrust CACI, an information technology company, into the international spotlight by casting suspicion on a CACI employee for being either directly or indirectly responsible for the mistreatment of detainees at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. At the same time, pictures from the abuses were shown on national television and tarnished anyone associated with Abu Ghraib--including CACI. What ensued was a media frenzy rarely seen by any company in recent decades. The media twisted the unsupported allegations into a guilty verdict without regard for the facts or the truth, creating a damning public perception of CACI. Our Good Name recounts how CACI battled to defend itself against erroneous and malicious reports by a rampaging media, how it responded to the wide-ranging government investigations, and how it overcame misplaced anger and criticism that put the company's dedicated employees and excellent reputation--even it's future--at risk. Our Good Name is CACI's story of facing one of the biggest scandals in recent history...and coming out honorably with its head high.
caci interview questions: Monstering Tara McKelvey, 2009-04-28 In April 2004, the Abu Ghraib photographs set off an international scandal. Yet until now, the full story has never been told. Tara McKelvey -- the first U.S. journalist to speak with female prisoners from Abu Ghraib -- traveled to the Middle East and across the United States to seek out victims and perpetrators. McKelvey tells how soldiers, acting in an atmosphere that encouraged abuse and sadism, were unleashed on a prison population of which the vast majority, according to army documents, were innocent civilians. Drawing upon critical sources, she discloses a series of explosive revelations: An exclusive jailhouse interview with Lynndie England connects the Abu Ghraib pictures to lewd vacation photos taken by England's boyfriend Charles Graner; formerly undisclosed videotapes show soldiers Robotripping on cocktails of over-the-counter drugs while pretending to stab detainees; new material sheds light on accusations against an American suspected of raping an Iraqi child; and first-hand accounts suggest the use of high-voltage devises, sexual humiliation and pharmaceutical drugs on Iraqi prisoners. She also provides an inside look at Justice Department theories of presidential power to show how the many abuses were licensed by the government.
caci interview questions: Strategic Litigation and Corporate Complicity in Crimes Under International Law Kalika Mehta, 2023-10-09 This book provides a comprehensive account of how non-state actors rely on international criminal law as a tool in the service of progressive political causes. The argument that international criminal law and its institutions serve as an instrument in the hands of a few powerful states, and that its practice is characterized by double standards and selectivity, has received considerable attention. This book, however, focuses on a practice that is informed by this argument. Its focus is on an alternative practice within international criminal law, where non-state actors navigate what critical scholars call a structurally biased legal system, in order to achieve long-term political objectives. Innovatively, the book combines the concerns expressed by Third World Approaches to International Law with strategic litigation that focuses on the accountability of corporations for their complicity in crimes under international law. Analysing this litigation, the book demonstrates that, while it is crucial to highlight the blind spots of the international criminal legal framework, it is also important to take into account the practice of non-state actors engaged in leveraging its emancipatory potential. This original analysis of the implementation and legitimacy of international criminal law will be of interest to a wide range of scholars and activists working in relevant areas of law, politics, criminology and international relations.

In 2004, after several months as an interrogator, Eric Fair’s call to serve his country has led him to a dark and frightening place. By the time he leaves Iraq after that first deployment, Fair will have participated in or witnessed a variety of aggressive interrogation techniques including sleep deprivation, stress positions, diet manipulation, exposure, and isolation. Years later, with his health and marriage crumbling, haunted by the role he played in what we now know as “enhanced interrogation,” it is Fair’s desire to speak out that becomes a key to his survival. Spare and haunting, Eric Fair’s memoir urgently questions the very depths of who he, and we as a country, have become.

caci interview questions: Assessment of Long-Term Health Effects of Antimalarial Drugs When Used for Prophylaxis National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, Health and Medicine Division, Board on Population Health and Public Health Practice, 2020-04-24 Among the many who serve in the United States Armed Forces and who are deployed to distant locations around the world, myriad health threats are encountered. In addition to those associated with the disruption of their home life and potential for combat, they may face distinctive disease threats that are specific to the locations to which they are deployed. U.S. forces have been deployed many times over the years to areas in which malaria is endemic, including in parts of Afghanistan and Iraq. Department of Defense (DoD) policy requires that antimalarial drugs be issued and regimens adhered to for deployments to malaria-endemic areas. Policies directing which should be used as first and as second-line agents have evolved over time based on new data regarding adverse events or precautions for specific underlying health conditions, areas of deployment, and other operational factors At the request of the Veterans Administration, Assessment of Long-Term Health Effects of Antimalarial Drugs When Used for Prophylaxis assesses the scientific evidence regarding the potential for long-term health effects resulting from the use of antimalarial drugs that were approved by FDA or used by U.S. service members for malaria prophylaxis, with a focus on mefloquine, tafenoquine, and other antimalarial drugs that have been used by DoD in the past 25 years. This report offers conclusions based on available evidence regarding associations of persistent or latent adverse events.

caci interview questions: Torture in the National Security Imagination Stephanie Athey, 2024-01-23 Reassessing the role of torture in the context of police violence, mass incarceration, and racial capitalism At the midpoint of a century of imperial expansion, marked on one end by the Philippine–American War of 1899–1902 and on the other by post–9/11 debates over waterboarding, the United States embraced a vision of “national security torture,” one contrived to cut ties with domestic torture and mass racial terror and to promote torture instead as a minimalist interrogation tool. Torture in the National Security Imagination argues that dispelling this vision requires a new set of questions about the everyday work that torture does for U.S. society. Stephanie Athey describes the role of torture in the proliferation of a U.S. national security stance and imagination: as U.S. domestic tortures were refined in the Philippines at the turn of the twentieth century, then in mid-century counterinsurgency theory and the networks that brought it home in the form of law-and-order policing and mass incarceration. Drawing on examples from news to military reports, legal writing, and activist media, Athey shows that torture must be seen as a colonial legacy with a corporate future, highlighting the centrality of torture to the American empire—including its role in colonial settlement, American Indian boarding schools, and police violence. She brings to the fore the spectators and commentators, the communal energy of violence, and the teams and target groups necessary to a mass undertaking (equipment suppliers, contractors, bureaucrats, university researchers, and profiteers) to demonstrate that, at base, torture is propelled by local social functions, conducted by networked professional collaborations, and publicly supported by a durable social imaginary.
caci interview questions: ADHD in Adults Russell A. Barkley, Kevin R. Murphy, Mariellen Fischer, 2010-11-01 Providing a new perspective on ADHD in adults, this compelling book analyzes findings from two major studies directed by leading authority Russell A. Barkley. Groundbreaking information is presented on the significant impairments produced by the disorder across major functional domains and life activities, including educational outcomes, work, relationships, health behaviors, and mental health. Thoughtfully considering the treatment implications of these findings, the book also demonstrates that existing diagnostic criteria do not accurately reflect the way ADHD is experienced by adults, and points the way toward developing better criteria that center on executive function deficits. Accessible tables, figures, and sidebars encapsulate the study results and methods.

caci interview questions: Outside the Box: Rethinking ADD/ADHD in Children and Adults Thomas E. Brown, 2017-04-26 Outside the Box: Rethinking ADD/ADHD in Children and Adults -- A Practical Guide identifies assumptions about ADD/ADHD that demand reevaluation in light of recent research. Building upon a current, science-based foundation, the book describes in practical terms how ADHD can be recognized at various ages; how it differs from more typical brain development; how it can significantly impair those affected; and how it can safely, and in most cases effectively, be treated in children and adults. The book is based upon current scientific research but also on the experience and perspective of the author, a clinician who has devoted more than 35 years to studying this disorder formally and countless hours to engaging with and providing treatment for a diversity of children, teenagers, and adults with ADHD and related problems. The book's audience is the wide variety of clinicians involved in assessing, treating, and/or monitoring the care of children and adults with this disorder (e.g., pediatricians, primary care physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, neurologists, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, and clinical social workers) and also educators, disability service providers, human resource specialists, and the adolescents and adults who seek more information about ADHD assessment and treatment for themselves or for family or friends. The book offers practical, accessible information that is grounded in the latest research: The book is focused not primarily on details of academic arguments but on practical aspects of ADHD -- how it varies from one person to another, how it changes over the life span, how treatments need to be adjusted for different individuals, and how it sometimes gets worse and sometimes gets better. Emphasizing that ADHD is not a simple problem of failing to listen or staying focused on a task, the author examines research demonstrating that ADHD results from impairment of a complex syndrome of brain functions essential for self-management, the executive functions. While DSM-5 is acknowledged as a valuable source of information about ADHD, this book draws upon a wider range of scientific research and perspectives not yet incorporated into DSM. Although accessible to the general reader, the text includes citations to sources that can be used to obtain additional, more technical information. Utterly current and scientifically based, Outside the Box: Rethinking ADD/ADHD in Children and Adults -- A Practical Guide challenges old thinking and provides much-needed information and support to clinicians, educators, patients, and families.

caci interview questions: Evaluation of Bonds for Financing State Highway Expenditures in Texas William F. McFarland, Jeffery Lynn Memmott, Alberto Castano-Pardo, 1995 This report presents some findings on the evaluation of bond financing for use in highway finance in Texas. It provides information that can be used by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and others in deciding whether or not to include the issuance of bonds in the mix of funding that is available for highway investment. Use of bond financing is not, ultimately, a way of financing expenditures. It is merely a way of changing the timing of expenditures or reallocating the use of revenues over time. Eventually, the bonds plus interest and other charges associated with the bond issue must be repaid with revenues from either existing taxes or, possibly, new revenue sources. Because bond financing is an expenditure strategy as opposed to being a basic revenue source, the criteria for evaluating bonds are somewhat different from those typically used for evaluating alternative revenue sources. This report presents two main findings on the use of bonds. First, new analyses of the impact of bonds on the highway system and motorists are made using the Highway Performance Monitoring System investment analysis. These findings indicate that use of bonds will lead to deterioration of the highway system over time if available revenues remain at current levels, in real dollars. The negative impact is forecasted to increase dramatically at higher levels of bond use. Second, a public opinion survey of Texas residents was conducted to determine public attitudes toward bond financing and other means of highway finance. This survey indicates that the public supports the use of bonds by the State to finance highways in Texas. There is some indication that they are less favorably inclined toward bonds when they realize that use of bonds reduces future funding by about twice the level of the bond issue because of interest and other bond costs. There also is some indication that the public may support bonds more for specific facilities, as opposed to facilities in general. Research findings suggest that the Texas Department of Transportation should be very cautious in using bonds to finance transportation, unless new basic revenue sources are available to pay for the bonds.

caci interview questions: Adults with ADHD Lynette McCullough, 2020-01-27 There is an increased number of college students with ADHD that are not aware of college resources to assist with finding careers. This problem has caused some college students with ADHD to feel unsupported after graduation. The purpose of this qualitative single case study was to explore how young adults with ADHD perceive the support and influence of college resources to make career fit decisions. The theoretical foundations for this study were Schlossberg's Transitional Theory and the Ecological Model of Career Development. The sample consisted of 65 young adults, ages 18 and over with ADHD from an online organization. Two RQ's on how young adults with ADHD perceive the support and influence of college resources in making employment decisions and as they transition to employment guided the study. There were 10 individual interviews and five focus group participants that were interviewed on Zoom and a different anonymous group of 50 participants were given a questionnaire. All of the interview questions were open ended. The data analysis consisted of an inductive thematic analysis using Saldaña coding process. Five themes arose from the research highlighting: (a) Support to stay focused on determining career fit, (b) Specific resources to match ADHD traits, (c) Promote awareness of the resources that are available, (d) Disability center collaborating with the career center, and (e) Preparation when transitioning to the workplace. Conclusion: The perceptions of the participants revealed how disability and career centers can be effective with career development for students with ADHD. In addition, the participants believed that staff members need additional training on understanding ADHD traits. Keywords: ADHD and college students, perceptions, transition, accommodations, career development, self-efficacy
