| cemal salman: Effects of Alevi-Sunni Marriages on Children’s Religious Education and Family Relations Dr. Fatma Kurttekin, 2024-12-31 In this study, the views of parents in Alevi-Sunni marriages on the phenomenon of religion and their children’s religious education are examined. While there has been a growing body of research on the role and significance of religion in Alevi-Sunni families, limited attention has been paid to their attitudes towards their children’s religious education, particularly within the context of cross-religious marriages. Based on this, this study aims to fill this research gap by examining the perspectives of parents in Alevi-Sunni marriages on their children’s religious education and family dynamics, using qualitative methods to provide in-depth insights. Ten families living in Sivas, Ankara and Tunceli, who were contacted through snowball and purposive sampling, participated in the study, in which qualitative research techniques were used. The data used in the study were collected through questionnaires and semi-structured interview forms. The data was analzed with the content analysis. It was determined that the Alevi-Sunni difference did not have a significant impact on the participants’ religious attitudes or their children’s religious education. Almost all parents stated that they wanted their children to choose their own path by acquiring experience and knowledge about both religious interpretations/ understandings. The study identified two primary areas of difficulty in Alevi-Sunni families: familial opposition to the participants' decision to marry and conflicts surrounding the children's religious education. These tensions may stem from societal pressures to conform to sectarian norms and the fear of losing religious identity through cross/mixed (intrafaith) marriages. Such pressures highlight the need for open dialogue and acceptance within families, which many participants reported as key to resolving conflicts. The provision of religious education in the family and the religious identity of children have been discussed in a separate study. Therefore, in this study, participants’ views on “compulsory” religious education activities, which are also a subject of debate in society, were evaluated. In parallel with the findings in the literature, the participants’ opinions were grouped in three categories, namely “abolishing the courses”, “making the courses optional”, and “improving the courses along with preserving their compulsory status”. Following the interviews, it was seen that the participants could have arguments mostly due to external factors, and that their own religious understanding did not have any impact on family life, religious attitudes or child rearing. Attention was drawn to the need for freedom from prejudices, acceptance of the other as he/she is, honesty, trust and a communicative environment of dialogue in order to reduce the tension in these two areas. |

| cemal salman: KAMU YÖNETİMİ ANSİKLOPEDİSİ 2.CİLT GENİŞLETİLMİŞ 2.BASKI Yasemin MAMUR IŞIKÇI, Esmeray ALACADAĞLI, Emre AKCAGÜNDÜZ, 2021-01-07 Modern toplum hayatında devlet tarafından üretilen hizmetler olmadan günlük ihtiyaçlarımızı karşılamak pek mümkün görünmemektedir. Kamu yönetimi, bu kamusal hizmetlerin üretilip vatandaşlara ulaştırılmasında önemli bir vazife görmektedir. Nüfusun artması, toplumsal ve siyasal yapının değişmesi, teknolojinin ilerlemesi gibi bir çok sebep, kamu hizmetlerine olan taleplerin çeşitlenmesine ve artmasına sebep olmuştur. Bu taleplere yönelik olarak üretilecek politikaların yürütme gücü olması nedeniyle, kamu yönetimi gün geçtikçe daha önem arz etmekte ve üzerinde daha fazla durulmaktadır. Bu açıdan kamu yönetimini daha etkin kılmak amacıyla kamu yönetiminin yapısı, işleyişi ve sorunları hakkında öncesine oranla daha fazla soru sorulmakta ve araştırma yapılmaktadır. Özellikle 1980 sonrası dönemden sonra kamu yönetiminin, ne olduğu ve olacağı; nasıl çalıştığı ve çalışması gerektiği gibi konularda çok farklı paradigmalar ortaya çıkmıştır. Öte yandan, özellikle bilgi iletişim teknolojilerinde ve insan hakları alanında meydana gelen gelişmeler de kamu yönetimini yakından etkilemiştir. Bütün bu etkenlerin kamu yönetimine yansımalarını açıklamak üzere, özellikle son otuz yıldır, oldukça yoğun olarak yapılan araştırmalar ve geliştirilen kuramlar kamu yönetimi literatürünü de önemli ölçüde genişletmiştir. Bu çalışma, sözünü ettiğimiz gelişmeler neticesinde literatüre yeni giren kavramları, terimleri, kuramları, bilgileri ve bakış açılarını alana ilişkin temel kavramlardan yola çıkarak ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında 1000 civarında kavram belirlenmiş olup, bu kavramların belirlenmesinde kamu yönetimi ile ilgili ulusal ve uluslar arası düzeyde ansiklopedi, sözlük, sempozyum ve süreli yayın taraması ve madde yazarı katkılarından yararlanılmıştır. Çalışmada her bir maddede yer alan kavramlara ilişkin öz ve güncel bilgilerin verilmesine özen gösterilmiştir. Ayrıca çalışma, kamu yönetiminin çevresi ile bir bütün oluşturduğu gerçeğinden yola çıkılarak, sadece “kamu yönetimi” ile ilgili terim ve kavramlarla sınırlandırılmayıp, ekonomi, sosyoloji, uluslararası ilişkiler, işletme, hukuk, çevre gibi bilim dallarının kamu yönetimi ile kesişen kavramlarını da içine alacak şekilde tasarlanmıştır. Kamu yönetimi tarihsel süreç içinde iş yapma ve yaptırma eyleminin yegane aracı olarak daima varlığını sürdürmüştür. Bununla birlikte bir bilim dalı haline gelmesi yakın bir zamana denk gelmektedir. Bu nedenle kamu yönetimi bilimi bir çocuk misali günden güne büyüyen ve hacmi artan bir bilim dalıdır. Diğer yandan, toplumlar ve yapılar değiştikçe doğaldır ki, kamu yönetimi de değişecektir. Bu nedenle, şu anda belirlemiş olduğumuz 1000 adet kavrama yenileri eklenmeye devam edecektir. Bu durum, çalışmamızın uzun dönemli ve kapsamlı olmasını zorunlu kılmaktadır. Bu nedenle ilk fasikülde 127 kavramla yayına başlamış bulunmaktayız. Bu çalışmada ise 130 kavram alanında uzman kişilerce hazırlanmıştır. Kavramların seçiminde disiplinde ‘anahtar kavram’ olmaları ve güncellik temel belirleyiciler olmuştur. Kavramların açıklanmasında öz bilgilerin bütünsel bir şekilde verilmesine ve bu kavramların gelecekte nasıl şekilleneceği konusunda açıklık getirilmesine büyük önem verilmiştir. Yazarların çalışmaları hem etik açıdan hem de çift kör hakem sistemi ile değerlendirilerek yayına hazırlanmıştır. Böylelikle titiz ve kapsamlı bir şekilde hazırlanan eserin, lisans ve lisansüstü düzeydeki öğrenciler ile akademisyenlerin temel başvuru kaynağı olacağını umuyoruz. |
| cemal salman: Women’s Productive and Reproductive Labour Ayşe Arslan, 2023-07-27 This book looks at the dynamic relationship between women’s productive and reproductive work in a Global South country from a Global South perspective. Applying a feminist political economy and historical materialist approach and building on an ethnographic extended case study, it analyses the relationships between class and gender across both the productive and reproductive realms at the macro and micro levels in the case of women garment workers in Turkey. Overall, it shows that the material and social conditions of women’s productive and reproductive work co-constitute each other. It suggests that productive and social reproductive labour should be examined as an integrated process and an interrelated social relation, in constant dialogue with other social relations. This book is of interest to researchers and students in the disciplines of gender studies, labour studies, feminist economics, sociology and development studies. Given that most studies on social reproduction have largely focused on the Global North, this book is of particular interest to those in search of a more comprehensive and holistic understanding. It is also of great relevance to policymakers concerned with gender and labour issues as well as labour and feminist activists. |

Köyde iken biz, ‘’Kurmanc’’ yani Kürt idik. Genellikle ılımlı düzeyde dindar olan köyümüzde, bir tek dedem Şiiliğe yatkın bir dindarlığa sahipti. Yaşamıma Ankara’da devam edip sol düşüncelerle de tanışınca din hayatımızdan kayboldu. Bizim etik değerlerimizin çocuklukta şekillendiğinin farkına, bazı olumlu ve olumsuz tecrübeler neticesinde, sonraları varacaktım. 2 Temmuz 1993’de Madımak’da gerçekleştirilen katliam, bir çok kişi gibi beni de sarstı. Kendisini İslam içinde gören iki akım arasındaki büyük farklılık üzerinde düşünme, beni; din tarihi hakkında okumaya yöneltti. Yaptığım araştırmalar sırasında sadece Sünnü kesimde değil; Aleviler içerisinde de inancın anlamı ve tarihi hakkında ciddi doğmaların olduğuna şahit oldum. Bu kez, Aleviler içerisinde yaygınlaştırılan doğmalardan biri; Kürd’ün Alevisinin olmayacağı, diğeri ise, Aleviliğin ‘’ezelden’’ beri var olduğu üzerineydi. Bu çalışma; din ve toplum ilişkisi hakkında önemli kaynaklar taranarak hazırlandı. Established as the founding party of Ataturk's republican regime, the RPP has a history of hostility of leftist parties. Despite this, by the mid-1960s, the RPP had re-orientated itself as left of centre, as the growing influence of the left inside the RPP pushed it in a new direction. This is hailed as the entry point of social democratic politics into Turkey, and is the focus of Yunus Emre's impressively researched book. Through extensive primary research, Emre tracks the fluctuations in Turkish politics from the single-party period to the making of a new regime following the 1960 coup, looking at the place of both the RPP and the left in this trajectory. The RPP's internal struggles in this period, in particular around the working class movement and the legal right to strike, debates over anti-imperialism and land reform, and the role of the military in politics provide the political context into which a new social democratic agenda emerged. Engaging with the body of literature on social democratic movements, Emre analyses the reasons for the 'delayed' emergence of social democracy in Turkey. He argues that the absence of European style social democratic formations in Turkey can be traced back to the developments around the adoption of a left of centre position by the RPP.
