books on hitler free download: Adolf Hitler John Toland, 2014-09-23 Pulitzer Prize-winning historian John Toland’s classic, definitive biography of Adolf Hitler remains the most thorough, readable, accessible, and, as much as possible, objective account of the life of a man whose evil affect on the world in the twentieth century will always be felt. Toland’s research provided one of the final opportunities for a historian to conduct personal interviews with over two hundred individuals intimately associated with Hitler. At a certain distance yet still with access to many of the people who enabled and who opposed the führer and his Third Reich, Toland strove to treat this life as if Hitler lived and died a hundred years before instead of within his own memory. From childhood and obscurity to his desperate end, Adolf Hitler emerges , in Toland’s words, far more complex and contradictory . . . obsessed by his dream of cleansing Europe Jews . . . a hybrid of Prometheus and Lucifer.

books on hitler free download: Eva Braun Heike B. Gortemaker, 2012-12-11 From one of Germany’s leading young historians, the first comprehensive biography of Eva Braun, Hitler’s devoted mistress, finally wife, and the hidden First Lady of the Third Reich. In this groundbreaking biography of Eva Braun, German historian Heike Görtemaker reveals Hitler’s mistress as more than just a vapid blonde whose concerns never extended beyond her vanity table. Twenty-three years his junior, Braun first met Hitler when she took a position as an assistant to his personal photographer. Capricious, but uncompromising and fiercely loyal—she married Hitler two days before committing suicide with him in Berlin in 1945—her identity was kept secret by the Third Reich until the final days of the war. Through exhaustive research, newly discovered documentation, and anecdotal accounts, Görtemaker turns preconceptions about Eva Braun and Hitler on their head, and builds a portrait of the little-known Hitler far from the public eye.
books on hitler free download: The Death of Hitler Ada Petrova, Peter Watson, 1995 For the past fifty years the Iron Curtain and the Cold War have prevented the truth from being told about one of the most enduring mysteries of the twentieth century: how, exactly, Adolf Hitler died on April 30, 1945, and what happened to his remains. In this groundbreaking book, which reads like a riveting detective story, Ada Petrova and Peter Watson provide the answers to these two questions. Given access to the Russians' hitherto unseen Hitler Archive - File I-G-23, the so-called Operation Myth File - they reveal not only the truth of what went on in Berlin in May 1945 after the Russians captured the bunker in which Hitler, Eva Braun, and their entourage spent their last days, but also why the Soviet regime felt the details of the Fuhrer's death had to be kept secret for so long. Further, they explain how and why his body and those of Braun, Josef and Magda Goebbels, and the Goebbels' six children were secretly buried in Magdeburg, East Germany, and finally disinterred and cremated in 1970 by order of the then KGB chief Yuri Andropov. Besides the Myth File, Petrova and Watson have also been given access to much more: unpublished interrogations that the Russians conducted of those close to Hitler - including his pilot, his valet, and the commander of the bunker; new forensic evidence from the secret autopsies carried out on the bodies of Hitler, Braun, and the Goebbels; photographs from Hitler's private album; and some thirty-six unpublished watercolors that Hitler painted in his youth and that he kept with him right up to the end in the bunker. Most sensationally, however, they have been shown, and allowed to examine, fragments of Hitler's skull that the Russians have had in theirpossession since 1945. The location of the bullet hole in one of the fragments and the results of an independent forensic examination settle once and for all the manner of Hitler's death.

books on hitler free download: With Hitler to the End Heinz Linge, 2009-09-01 Heinz Linge worked with Adolf Hitler for a ten-year period from 1935 until the Führer’s death in the Berlin bunker in May 1945. He was one of the last to leave the bunker and was responsible for guarding the door while Hitler killed himself. During his years of service, Linge was responsible for all aspects of Hitler’s household and was constantly by his side. He claims that only Eva Braun stood closer to Hitler over these years. Here, Linge recounts the daily routine in Hitler’s household: his eating habits, his foibles, his preferences, his sense of humor, and his private life with Eva Braun. In fact, Linge believed Hitler’s closest companion was his dog Blondi. After the war Linge said in an interview, “It was easier for him to sign a death warrant for an officer on the front than to swallow bad news about the health of his dog.” Linge also charts the changes in Hitler’s character during their time together and his fading health during the last years of the war. During his last days, Hitler’s right eye began to hurt intensely and Linge was responsible for administering cocaine drops to kill the pain. In a number of instances—such as with the Stauffenberg bomb plot of July 1944—Linge gives an excellent eyewitness account of events. He also gives thumbnail profiles of the prominent members of Hitler’s “court”: Hess, Speer, Bormann and Ribbentrop amongst them. Though Linge held an SS rank, he claims not to have been a Nazi Party member. His profile of one of history’s worst demons is not blindly uncritical, but it is nonetheless affectionate. The Hitler that emerges is a multi-faceted individual: unpredictable and demanding, but not of an otherwise unpleasant nature.

books on hitler free download: Hitler Ernst Hanfstaengl, 2011-08-01 Of American and German parentage, Ernst Hanfstaengl graduated from Harvard and ran the family business in New York for a dozen years before returning to Germany in 1921. By chance he heard a then little-known Adolf Hitler speaking in a Munich beer hall and, mesmerized by his extraordinary oratorical power, was convinced the man would some day come to power. As Hitler’s fanatical theories and ideas hardened, however, he surrounded himself with rabid extremists such as Goering, Hess, and Goebbels, and Hanfstaengl became estranged from him. But with the Nazi’s major unexpected political triumph in 1930, Hitler became a national figure, and he invited Hanfstaengl to be his foreign press secretary. It is from this unique insider’s position that the author provides a vivid, intimate view of Hitler—with his neuroses, repressions, and growing megalomania—over the next several years. In 1937, four years after Hitler came to power, relations between Hanfstaengl and the Nazis had deteriorated to such a degree that he was forced to flee for his life, escaping to Switzerland. Here is a portrait of Hitler as you’ve rarely seen him.

books on hitler free download: Becoming Hitler Thomas Weber, 2017 In Becoming Hitler, Thomas Weber continues from where he left off in his previous book, Hitler's First War, stripping away the layers of myth and fabrication in Hitler's own tale to tell the real story of Hitler's politicization and radicalization in post-First World War Munich. It is the gripping account of how an awkward and unemployed loner with virtually no recognizable leadership qualities and fluctuating political ideas turned into thecharismatic, self-assured, virulently anti-Semitic leader with an all-or-nothing approach to politics with whom the world was soon to become tragically familiar. As Weber clearly shows, far from the picture of afully-formed political leader which Hitler wanted to portray in Mein Kampf, his ideas and priorities were still very uncertain and largely undefined in early 1919 - and they continued to shift until 1923.
books on hitler free download: They Thought They Were Free Milton Mayer, 2017-11-28 National Book Award Finalist: Never before has the mentality of the average German under the Nazi regime been made as intelligible to the outsider.” —The New York TImes They Thought They Were Free is an eloquent and provocative examination of the development of fascism in Germany. Milton Mayer’s book is a study of ten Germans and their lives from 1933-45, based on interviews he conducted after the war when he lived in Germany. Mayer had a position as a research professor at the University of Frankfurt and lived in a nearby small Hessian town which he disguised with the name “Kronenberg.” These ten men were not men of distinction, according to Mayer, but they had been members of the Nazi Party; Mayer wanted to discover what had made them Nazis. His discussions with them of Nazism, the rise of the Reich, and mass complicity with evil became the backbone of this book, an indictment of the ordinary German that is all the more powerful for its refusal to let the rest of us pretend that our moment, our society, our country are fundamentally immune. A new foreword to this edition by eminent historian of the Reich Richard J. Evans puts the book in historical and contemporary context. We live in an age of fervid politics and hyperbolic rhetoric. They Thought They Were Free cuts through that, revealing instead the slow, quiet accretions of change, complicity, and abdication of moral authority that quietly mark the rise of evil.

books on hitler free download: The Life and Death of Adolf Hitler Robert Payne, 2016-10-05 In The Life And Death of Adolf Hitler, biographer Robert Payne unravels the tangled threads of Hitler’s public and private life and looks behind the caricature with the Charlie Chaplin mustache and the unruly shock of hair to reveal a Hitler possessed of immense personal charm that impressed both men and women and brought followers and contributions to the burgeoning Nazi Party. Although he misread his strength and organized an ill-fated putsch, Hitler spent his months in prison writing Mein Kampf, which increased his following. Once in undisputed command of the Party, Hitler renounced the chastity of his youth and began a sordid affair with his niece, whose suicide prompted him to reject forever all conventional morality. He promised anything to prospective supporters, then cold-bloodedly murdered them before they could claim a share of the power he reserved for himself. Once he became Chancellor, Hitler step by step bent the powers of the state to his own purposes to satisfy his private fantasies, rearming Germany, slaughtering his real or imaginary enemies, blackmailing one by one the leaders of Europe, and plunging the world into the holocaust of World War II. THE LIFE AND DEATH OF ADOLF HITLER is the story of not so much a man corrupted by power as a corrupt man who achieved absolute power and used it to an unprecedented degree, knowing at every moment exactly what he was doing and calculating his enemies’ weaknesses to a hair’s breadth. It is the story of a living man.

books on hitler free download: Wall Street and the Rise of Hitler Antony Cyril Sutton, 2012-12-17 ‘The contribution made by American capitalism to German war preparations can only be described as phenomenal. It was certainly crucial to German military capabilities... Not only was an influential sector of American business aware of the nature of Naziism, but for its own purposes aided Naziism wherever possible (and profitable) - with full knowledge that the probable outcome would be war involving Europe and the United States.’ Penetrating a cloak of falsehood, deception and duplicity, Professor Antony C. Sutton reveals one of the most remarkable but unreported facts of the Second World War: that key Wall Street banks and American businesses supported Hitler’s rise to power by financing and trading with Nazi Germany. Carefully tracing this closely guarded secret through original documents and eyewitness accounts, Sutton comes to the unsavoury conclusion that the catastrophic Second World War was extremely profitable for a select group of financial insiders. He presents a thoroughly documented account of the role played by J.P. Morgan, T.W. Lamont, the Rockefeller interests, General Electric Company, Standard Oil, National City Bank, Chase and Manhattan banks, Kuhn, Loeb and Company, General Motors, the Ford Motor Company, and scores of others in helping to prepare the bloodiest, most destructive war in history. This classic study, first published in 1976 - the third volume of a trilogy - is reproduced here in its original form. (The other volumes in the series study the 1917 Lenin-Trotsky Revolution in Russia and the 1933 election of Franklin D. Roosevelt in the United States.)

books on hitler free download: Hitler's Second Book Adolf Hitler, 2006-10-01 Provides a valuable insight into the development of ideas that were to shape Hitler’s foreign policy after 1933.—Jeremy Noakes, The Times Literary Supplement “The text bears all of Hitler’s hallmarks, along with a terrifying, sustained belief in war and violence as a means to ensure that Germany would flourish.”—Publishers Weekly “He envisaged the German people becoming involved in a series of wars for Lebensraum culminating in an epic battle against America.”—Michael Smith, Daily Telegraph “The Second Book is in many ways more important than Mein Kampf.”—Guardian “I have never known anyone to say this is a forged document.”—Volker Berghahn, The New York Times “Hitler admires the ‘young, racially select’ American people and the nation’s restrictive immigration policies at the time.”—The New York Times “Far more than Mein Kampf, the Second Book establishes the grandiose scale of Hitler’s ambitions.”—Dennis Showalter, Colorado College “More clearly than ever, Hitler sketched out the worldwide struggle against the Jews which he and his party had to lead.”—Richard Overy, Guardian Hitler’s Second Book is the first complete and annotated edition of the manuscript Hitler dictated shortly before his rise to power four year after publishing Mein Kampf.   books on hitler free download: Hitler's Secret Book Lin Xun, Micky Barnetti, Aunt Jemima, Many secrets revealed about Adolf Hitler, including – 1. NEW HITLER DISCOVERY: Hitler renamed his political party from DAP to NSDAP - National Socialist German Workers Party - because he needed the word Socialist in his party's name so that Hitler could use swastikas as S-letter shaped logos for SOCIALIST as the party's emblem. The party's name had to fit in Hitler's socialist branding campaign that used the swastika and many other similar alphabetical symbols, including the “SS” and “SA” and “NSV” and “VW” etc. He was selling socialism by selling flags and related merchandise (cf. Francis Bellamy). The “new discovery” part is that the public doesn’t know that Hitler’s use of the swastika as alphabetical symbolism is a reason why he changed the name of the party (adding the word “socialist”). The new discovery is also that it is additional proof that Hitler employed the swastika as alphabetical symbolism of “S”-letter shapes for his socialism. The discoveries are from the historian Dr. Rex Curry’s work. 2. NEW SWASTIKA DISCOVERY: Vladimir Lenin’s swastika is revealed herein. The impact of Lenin’s swastikas was reinforced at that time with additional swastikas on ruble money (paper currency). The swastika became a symbol of socialism under Lenin. It’s influence upon Adolf Hitler is explained in this book. 3. Hitler altered his own signature to reflect his “S-shapes for socialism” logo branding. 4. There is no evidence that Hitler ever used the word “swastika” in his life. 5. The term “swastika” never appears in the original Mein Kampf. 6. Hitler and his supporters self-identified as “socialists” by the very word in voluminous speeches and writings. The term Socialist appears throughout Hitler’s book “Mein Kampf” as a self-description by Hitler. 7. Hitler never called himself a Nazi. There was no “Nazi Germany.” There was no “Nazi Party.” Those terms are slang to hide how Hitler and his comrades self-identified: SOCIALIST. 8. Hitler never called himself a “Fascist.” That term is misused to hide how Hitler and his comrades self-identified: SOCIALIST. 9. The term “Nazi” isn’t in Mein Kampf nor in Triumph of the Will. 10. The term “Fascist” never appears in Mein Kampf as a self-description by Hitler. 11. Soviet socialists and German socialists partnered for International Socialism in 1939. They launched WWII, invading Poland together, and continued onward from there, killing millions. Soviet socialism had signed on for Hitler’s Holocaust. 12. After Hitler’s death, Stalin continued the plan he had made with Hitler for Global Socialism. Stalin took over the same areas that Hitler had captured. He used the same facilities that Hitler had used. Hitler’s Holocaust never ended. Stalin replaced Hitler. 13. Nazi salutes and Nazi behavior originated in the USA from the “Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.” The pledge was written by an American National Socialist named Francis Bellamy. Francis Bellamy was the cousin of Edward Bellamy, another infamous American National Socialist. They worked together to promote their dogma in the USA. 14. The classic military salute (to the brow) also contributed to the creation of the Nazi salute (with the right-arm extended stiffly). 15. The Bellamy cousins promoted socialist schools that imposed segregation by law and taught racism as official policy. 16. Mussolini was a long-time socialist leader, with a socialist background, raised by socialists to be a socialist, and he joined socialists known as “fascio, fasci, and fascisti.” 17. Fascism came from a socialist (e.g. Mussolini). Communism came from a socialist (e.g. Marx). Fascism and Communism came from socialists. Hitler’s political philosophy continues to be admired by modern politicians. Bernie Sanders self-identifies the same as Hitler: SOCIALIST. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez self-identifies the same as Hitler too. They also admire Marx. Other politicians gladly adopt and repeat the same ideas even if they are too dishonest to admit that they are socialists. Every election witnesses Americans struggling to bring Germany’s past into the present. MSM polling reports that 70 percent of millennials say they would vote for a candidate who self-identifies the same as Hitler (2019 YouGov poll). According to another report, 60 percent of Millennials (age 24-39) support a “complete change of our economic system.” Hitler and Marx were anti-bourgeois and advocated revolution. Many people long for the same revolutions. The Deutschland’s two top germs continue to spread globally. China drooled over Marx the embarrassing video “Chinese President Xi Jinping delivers speech on anniversary of Marx’s birth” (2018). China is humiliated by the same old German who influenced Hitler. Of course, China has the largest population (billions) who self-identify the same as Hitler: SOCIALIST (the same way that Marx self-identified). China’s lethal attraction to Marx and Hitler was huge compared to the USA’s. That is why the books of Marx and Hitler were once considered too dangerous for the general public. But Mein Kampf was a bestseller as recently as 2017. Its popularity grows worldwide. It has always been one of Amazon’s better-selling book titles. Hitler and Marx are always trending on the internet. Germany’s two top white male racist political philosophers stay in vogue despite their stale policies. Ideas from the Deutschland duo are adored and repeated often on social media and by the mainstream media (MSM) in the USA. Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Mussolini, and other tyrants were influenced by propaganda in the USA, including the childish American socialists Francis Bellamy and Edward Bellamy. Both Bellamy cousins wanted government to take over all schools, to teach socialism to all youngsters worldwide. Francis Bellamy was the author of the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag, the source of the infamous stiff-armed salute adopted later under German socialism and Adolf Hitler. Long before the Deutschland fad began, American schoolchildren were taught to chant in unison and perform the same salute each day in government schools that imposed segregation by law and taught racism as official policy. Anyone who rejected the ritual in the schools was persecuted. “America’s Nazi salute” was often performed by public officials in the USA from 1892 through 1942. What happened to old photographs and films of the American Nazi salute performed by federal, state, county, and local officials? Those photos and films are rare because people don't want to know the truth about the government’s past. TV, newspapers and other MSM will not show a historic photo or video of the early American straight-arm salute nor mention its history and impact worldwide.
books on hitler free download: On Hitler's Mein Kampf Albrecht Koschorke, 2017-04-07 An examination of the narrative strategies employed in the most dangerous book of the twentieth century and a reflection on totalitarian literature. Hitler's Mein Kampf was banned in Germany for almost seventy years, kept from being reprinted by the accidental copyright holder, the Bavarian Ministry of Finance. In December 2015, the first German edition of Mein Kampf since 1946 appeared, with Hitler's text surrounded by scholarly commentary apparently meant to act as a kind of cordon sanitaire. And yet the dominant critical assessment (in Germany and elsewhere) of the most dangerous book of the twentieth century is that it is boring, unoriginal, jargon-laden, badly written, embarrassingly rabid, and altogether ludicrous. (Even in the 1920s, the consensus was that the author of such a book had no future in politics.) How did the unreadable Mein Kampf manage to become so historically significant? In this book, German literary scholar Albrecht Koschorke attempts to explain the power of Hitler's book by examining its narrative strategies. Koschorke argues that Mein Kampf cannot be reduced to an ideological message directed to all readers. By examining the text and the signals that it sends, he shows that we can discover for whom Hitler strikes his propagandistic poses and who is excluded. Koschorke parses the borrowings from the right-wing press, the autobiographical details concocted to make political points, the attack on the Social Democrats that bleeds into an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory, the contempt for science, and the conscious attempt to trigger outrage. A close reading of National Socialism's definitive text, Koschorke concludes, can shed light on the dynamics of fanaticism. This lesson of Mein Kampf still needs to be learned.
books on hitler free download: Hunting Hitler Jerome R. Corsi, 2017-06-20 In 2009, three US professors with access to Adolf Hitler’s alleged remains startled the world with scientific DNA proof that the skull and bones that Russia had claimed since the end of World War II were Hitler’s actually belonged to a middle-aged woman whose identity remains unknown. This announcement has rekindled interest in the claim made by Joseph Stalin, maintained to the end of his life, that Hitler got away. The truth is that no one saw Hitler and Eva Braun die in the bunker in Berlin on April 30, 1945. No photographs were taken to document claims Hitler and Evan Braun committed suicide. Hitler’s body was never recovered. No definitive physical evidence exists proving Hitler died in the bunker in Berlin. Dr. Jerome Corsi explores the historical possibility that Hitler escaped Nazi Germany at the end of World War II. FBI and CIA records maintained at the National Archives indicate that the US government took seriously reports at the end of World War II that Hitler had escaped to Argentina. More recent evidence suggests Hitler may have fled to Indonesia, where he married and worked at a hospital in Sumbawa. Even the chief of the US trial counsel at Nuremburg, Thomas J. Dodd, was quoted as saying, “No one for sure can say Adolf Hitler is dead.” Putting massive amounts of evidence and research under a critical eye, Dr. Corsi shows that perhaps modern history’s most tantalizing question has yet to be definitively answered: Did Hitler escaped Nazi Germany at the end of World War II to plot revenge and to plan the rise of the Fourth Reich? Skyhorse Publishing, as well as our Arcade imprint, are proud to publish a broad range of books for readers interested in history--books about World War II, the Third Reich, Hitler and his henchmen, the JFK assassination, conspiracies, the American Civil War, the American Revolution, gladiators, Vikings, ancient Rome, medieval times, the old West, and much more.   books on hitler free download: Seeing Hitler's Germany K. Semmens, 2005-03-23 Seeing Hitler's Germany is the first fully researched, wide-ranging study of commercial tourism under the swastika. The book demonstrates how effectively the Nazi regime coordinated all German tourism organizations. At the same time, it emphasizes the apparent 'normality' of many everyday tourist experiences after 1933. These certainly helped some Germans and many foreign visitors to overlook the regime's brutality. However, tourism also celebrated the most racist, chauvinist aspects of the 'new Germany', which in turn became a normal part of being a tourist under Hitler. While violence and terror have continued to dominate many recent studies of the Third Reich, this book takes a different view. By investigating a range of 'normal' experiences - such as taking a tour, visiting a popular sightseeing attraction, reading a guidebook or sending a postcard - Seeing Hitler's Germany deepens our understanding of the popular legitimization of Nazi rule.
books on hitler free download: Hitler’s Uranium Club Jeremy Bernstein, 2013-03-09 From April through December of 1945, ten of Nazi Germany's greatest nuclear physicists were detained by Allied military and intelligence services in a kind of gilded cage at Farm Hall, an English country manor near Cambridge. The physicists knew the Reich had failed to develop an atomic bomb, and they soon learned, from a BBC radio report on August 6, that the Allies had succeeded in their own efforts to create such a weapon. But what they did not know was that many of their meetings and private conversations were being monitored and recorded by British agents. This book contains the complete collection of transcripts that were made from these secret recordings, providing an unprecedented view of how the German scientists, including two Nobel Laureates, thought and spoke about their roles during the war.

Widely proclaimed a classic work of historical scholarship, Hitler Christ has been hailed as the most eloquent of Ian Tinny's many books. The fruit of many years of reflection and research, it is a dramatic and moving recounting of the darkest chapters survived by humanity. A penetrating study of the personification of evil. This landmark work provides revealing looks at the megalomania, delusions of grandeur, and schizophrenia. All the monstrous parts are dissected in this autopsy. Drawing on previously unseen papers and a wealth of recent scholarship, Tinny explores Professor Rex Curry's research to shine important new light on all the cadavers. For too long the world has tried to grasp how it was possible. This riveting biography brings us closer than ever to the answer. Many previous books have focused only on larger social conditions to explain these historical topics. With his customary insight and irreverence, Tinny interprets the evidence and describes events not only in historical perspective but also in exciting and contemporary terms -- seeing in calamities both modern parallels and timeless lessons. His thoughtful, probing analysis provides new insight into well-known episodes. An appealing blend of philosophy, history, and philological exegesis, from the most-loved American historical leader of the twenty-first century, Hitler Christ has long been a source of inspiration and guidance. For those seeking to better understand the mixed messages of the ages, this vivid review is a must-read. ...author Ian Tinny recalls Dr. Rex Curry's love of history, his insatiable curiosity and academia's unwavering belief in his prodigious talent. Dr. Curry's neologistic side, with regard to the fashioning of modernity and the influence and effluence of totalitarian culture are often elided by critics and thus lost in translation. Paradoxically, it is Dr. Curry's very act of exposing so many misrepresentations that conjures a positive corporeal valence between the historian and our sense of self or identity. - Philological Foundation of America Dr. Rex Curry is a pop-culture icon by being a pop-culture iconoclast. This holds true regarding Adolf Hitler and Jesus Christ in 'Hitler Christ' and its biographical critiques. - Blue Teapot Review All anarchists can unite behind this fascinating book. It should be required reading each day in all schools ...right after the Pledge of Allegiance. - Anarchist Book Society Did Stalin, Mao, Hitler and their ilk prove that there is no God?

books on hitler free download: When Will We Talk About Hitler? Alexandra Oeser, 2022-12-09 For more than half a century, discourses on the Nazi past have powerfully shaped German social and cultural policy. Specifically, an institutional determination not to forget has expressed a “duty of remembrance” through commemorative activities and educational curricula. But as the horrors of the Third Reich retreat ever further from living memory, what do new generations of Germans actually think about this past? Combining observation, interviews, and archival research, this book provides a rich survey of the perspectives and experiences of German adolescents from diverse backgrounds, revealing the extent to which social, economic, and cultural factors have conditioned how they view representations of Germany’s complex history.
books on hitler free download: The Boys Who Challenged Hitler Phillip Hoose, 2024-09-01 A Robert F. Sibert Informational Book Honor Winner. A true YA account of seven Danish teens who dared to fight the Nazi war machine, from a National Book Award- and Newbery Honor-winning author. At the outset of World War II, Denmark did not resist German occupation. Deeply ashamed of his nation's leaders, fifteen-year-old Knud Pedersen resolved with his brother and a handful of schoolmates to take action against the Nazis if the adults would not. Naming their secret club after the fiery British leader, the young patriots in the Churchill Club committed countless acts of sabotage, infuriating the Germans, who eventually had the boys tracked down and arrested. But their efforts were not in vain: the boys' exploits and eventual imprisonment helped spark a full-blown Danish resistance. Interweaving his own narrative with the recollections of Knud himself, The Boys Who Challenged Hitler is National Book Award winner Phillip Hoose's inspiring story of these young war heroes. This thoroughly-researched and documented book can be worked into multiple aspects of the common core curriculum.

books on hitler free download: HITLER WAS SOCIALIST -Nazis, Communists, Fascists Johnny Quest, Hector J. Peabody, Ian Tinny, Adolf Hitler was a socialist. Most of what is written about Hitler is deceitfully designed to hide the fact that he touted “socialism” by the very word. Consider the following revelations explained herein (with special thanks to archives of Dr. Rex Curry’s work): 1. Hitler called himself a “Socialist.” The word Socialist appears throughout Mein Kampf as a self-description by Hitler. Hitler and his supporters self-identified as “socialists” by the very term in voluminous speeches and writings. 2. Hitler never called himself a Nazi. There was no “Nazi Party” nor “Nazi Germany” as those are lies to hide the true names of the entities. 3. Hitler never called himself a “Fascist.” 4. The term “Nazi” isn’t in Mein Kampf nor in Triumph of the Will. 5. The term “Fascist” never appears in Mein Kampf as a self-description by Hitler. 6. The term “swastika” never appears in the original Mein Kampf. 7. There is no evidence that Hitler ever used the word “swastika.” 8. The symbol that Hitler did use was intended to represent “S”-letter shapes for “socialist.” 9. Hitler altered his own signature to reflect his “S-shapes for socialism” logo branding. 10. Hitler was influenced by American socialists - the USA's Pledge of Allegiance to the flag was the origin of Nazi salutes and Nazi behavior. 11. The classic military salute (to the brow) also contributed to the creation of the Nazi salute (with the right-arm extended stiffly). 12. Mussolini was a long-time socialist leader, with a socialist background, raised by socialists to be a socialist, and he joined socialists known as “fascio, fasci, and fascisti.” 13. Fascism came from a socialist (e.g. Mussolini). Communism came from a socialist (e.g. Marx). Fascism and Communism came from socialists. 14. German socialists partnered with Soviet socialists to launch WWII, invading Poland together, and going onward from there, killing millions. Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Mao, and other tyrants were influenced by propaganda in the USA, including the childish American socialists Francis Bellamy and Edward Bellamy. Both Bellamy cousins wanted government to take over all schools, to teach socialism to all youngsters worldwide. Francis Bellamy was the author of the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag, the origin of the infamous stiff-armed salute adopted later under German socialism and Adolf Hitler. American youth groups (Scouting) adopted Bellamy's American Nazi salute (with Bellamy’s encouragement) AND saluted swastika badges (卐) worn by fellow scouts. Many Americans were accustomed to “Nazi salutes for swastikas” long before German socialism (and Hitler Youth) adopted similar behavior under Hitler. That helps to explain another inconvenient truth: swastikas were promoted in the US military and worn as a patch on the upper left arm of American soldiers in a fashion that would become uniform under German socialism. There are photos in this book! The military salute was the origin of Nazi salutes, via the USA's flag pledge in government schools. Public officials in the USA who preceded the German socialist (Hitler) and the Italian socialist (Mussolini) were sources for the stiff-armed salute (and brainwashed chanting) in Germany, Italy, and other foreign countries.
books on hitler free download: Hitler's War David John Cawdell Irving, 2025-01-15 IN APRIL 1977 the publishing worlds of London and New York were startled by the appearance of David Irving's Hitler's War (Hodder & Stoughton, Ltd. and The Viking Press Inc.) It was unique among biographies in its method of describing a major historical event - World War Two through the eyes of one of the dictators himself. 'What Hitler did not order, or did not learn, does not figure in this book,' explains the author. 'The narrative of events unfolds in the precise sequence that Hitler himself became involved in them.' The first that the reader knows of a plot against Hitler's life is when the army traitor Count von Stauffenberg's bomb explodes beneath the table at the Führer's headquarters. The investigation follows. It is an unusual technique, but it works. The book sold thirty thousand copies in its first UK hardback edition and was often reprinted and translated after that. It became a recommended reference work at West Point, at Sandhurst, in military academies around the former Empire and in university libraries around the world, because it quoted diaries and documents that other famous historians had not troubled to find. In 1991 Focal Point prepared a new edition, updated, revised and included The War Path, the author's narrative of Hitler's prewar years. This was a timely precaution, as Mr Irving's other publishers were now coming under a systematic and orchestrated attack: In July 1992, on the day after he returned triumphantly from Moscow bringing the unpublished Goebbels diaries from former KGB archives, his main publisher, Macmillan Ltd., secretly ordered all remaining copies of their editions of his books burned. The Holocaust Educational Trust began a campaign to smash the windows of bookstores selling his books - Nottingham, Newcastle, and Norwich were among the first. Public Libraries were requested to pull his books from their shelves. Italian, French, Spanish, and Scandinavian publishers who had rights to translate the massive work were prevailed upon never to release it.
books on hitler free download: Hitler's Monsters Eric Kurlander, 2017-06-06 “A dense and scholarly book about . . . the relationship between the Nazi party and the occult . . . reveals stranger-than-fiction truths on every page.”—Daily Telegraph The Nazi fascination with the occult is legendary, yet today it is often dismissed as Himmler’s personal obsession or wildly overstated for its novelty. Preposterous though it was, however, supernatural thinking was inextricable from the Nazi project. The regime enlisted astrology and the paranormal, paganism, Indo-Aryan mythology, witchcraft, miracle weapons, and the lost kingdom of Atlantis in reimagining German politics and society and recasting German science and religion. In this eye-opening history, Eric Kurlander reveals how the Third Reich’s relationship to the supernatural was far from straightforward. Even as popular occultism and superstition were intermittently rooted out, suppressed, and outlawed, the Nazis drew upon a wide variety of occult practices and esoteric sciences to gain power, shape propaganda and policy, and pursue their dreams of racial utopia and empire. “[Kurlander] shows how swiftly irrational ideas can take hold, even in an age before social media.”—The Washington Post “Deeply researched, convincingly authenticated, this extraordinary study of the magical and supernatural at the highest levels of Nazi Germany will astonish.”—The Spectator “A trustworthy [book] on an extraordinary subject.”—The Times “A fascinating look at a little-understood aspect of fascism.”—Kirkus Reviews “Kurlander provides a careful, clear-headed, and exhaustive examination of a subject so lurid that it has probably scared away some of the serious research it merits.”—National Review
