a sumerian observation of the köfels impact event: A Sumerian Observation of the Köfels' Impact Event Alan Bond, Mark Hempsell, 2008 Around 700 BC an Assyrian scribe in the Royal Place at Nineveh made a copy of one of the most important documents in the royal collection. Two and a half thousand years later it was found by Henry Layard in the remains of the palace library. It ended up in the British Museum's cuneiform clay tablet collection as catalogue No. K8538 (also called the Planisphere), where it has puzzled scholars for over a hundred and fifty years. In this monograph Bond and Hempsell provide the first comprehensive translation of the tablet, showing it to be a contemporary Sumerian observation of an Aten asteroid over a kilometre in diameter that impacted Kofels in Austria in the early morning of 29th June 3123 BC.
a sumerian observation of the köfels impact event: Vimana David Hatcher Childress, 2013-12-18 According to early Sanskrit texts the ancients had several types of airships called vimanas. Like aircraft of today, vimanas were used to fly through the air from city to city; to conduct aerial surveys of uncharted lands; and as delivery vehicles for awesome weapons. David Hatcher Childress, popular Lost Cities author and star of the History Channel’s long-running show Ancient Aliens, takes us on an astounding investigation into tales of ancient flying machines. In his new book, packed with photos and diagrams, he consults ancient texts and modern stories and presents astonishing evidence that aircraft, similar to the ones we use today, were used thousands of years ago in India, Sumeria, China and other countries. This means that these ancient civilizations had advanced metal technology, electricity and the engineering knowledge of flight many thousands of years before our own era of flight technology. Childress discusses ancient UFO sightings, the fascinating lore of ancient flight and the technology allegedly used in the flying machines of the ancients.
a sumerian observation of the köfels impact event: Abraham of Ur David A. Snyder, 2015-10-28 Did Abraham bring Genesis-like stories to Canaan that Moses uses in the Torah? Did Abraham Avenge the killing of Lots father Haren? Genesis tells us Terah became the father of Abram, in Ur of the Chaldeans; while history shows Abraham was born in 2000 BC into the worlds most advanced civilization, the 3rd Dynasty of Ur. When God tells Abraham go forth to a land that I will show you he was probably going to go there anyway as part of a mass migration of Semites into the Levant that will take them one day to Egypt as part of the Hyksos invasion. It is probable that Abraham brought many ancient stories of Sumer and Akkad that influenced stories in Genesis. And, if we are to believe Josephus, Abraham was an astronomer and a warrior, hardly the nomadic sheepherder we see pictured in religious art. David Snyder is a new author taking a new approach to the study of Abraham. By researching the time and place that Abraham lived he found an incredible amount of extant documents available to give a realistic view of the geopolitical world that motivated Abrahams family and influenced the growth of monotheism. Along the way, he discovered and enhanced his own understanding of Christianity.

a sumerian observation of the köfels impact event: Androcentrism: The Ascendancy Of Man Charles A Pasternak, 2021-10-04 Since time immemorial, men have assumed superior innate qualities which have justified them in exerting power over the other sex right up to the twentieth century. The last few years have seen the emergence of a new literary genre: to show that despite this, women have managed to become outstanding writers, artists, scientists, explorers, rulers and politicians. Of such books, none discusses a fundamental question: is the supposed male superiority biological, or has it arisen for some other reason over the course of time? This is the issue that Androcentrism: The Ascendancy of Man addresses. The stronger physique of males may have given Palaeolithic man a feeling of superiority, but the two sexes probably lived in fairly gender-neutral, or even matriarchal, groups right up to the end of the Neolithic Age. Charles Pasternak argues that it was the emergence of hierarchies, like chiefdom, that largely sparked androcentrism. It became established as villages grew into towns, with the ownership of property as an important ingredient, during the Bronze Age. While the Mediaeval Period was a time of slight respite for women, the Age of Enlightenment in Europe did not bolster this trend; it reversed it. Not until the latter half of the nineteenth century was androcentrism beginning to be seriously questioned, but significant change happened only after World War I. Today androcentrism has virtually disappeared from most parts of the world. It was just a cultural blip, albeit one that lasted over 5,000 years.Related Link(s)
a sumerian observation of the köfels impact event: The World's Construction Mechanism Jacques Barnouin, 2020-04-28 The interdisciplinarity between the biological and human sciences is here to serve a daring objective: to decipher, by means of a logical chain, the explanatory factors of human trajectories and imbalances between societies and nations. To do this, The World’s Construction Mechanism is based on an unprecedented analysis of the dynamics of the human species, combining the contributions of anthropology, archeology, biology, climatology, economics, geography, history and sociology. This book analyzes the roots of societal disharmony and presents ways of realizing a clear-sighted human project that is in step with the general interest of humanity.
a sumerian observation of the köfels impact event: Elohim II: Ascension of the King Kerry L. Barger, 2018-02 This book is the sequel to Elohim: Ancient Science Fiction or Biblical God? It explores what may have been and offers a glimpse at those who could soon be returning to Earth in our very near future. At the core of the facts presented within these chapters, lies a conundrum. There once existed an author who claimed to be the creator of the human race, and he wrote down his memoirs over 5,000 years ago. His tale evolved into many ancient religions. The question is, was he actually an alien being who came to Earth from another planet and wrote a truthful autobiography, or was his book a science fiction novel written by a mere mortal? Either scenario reveals a compelling reality: an ancient, pre-historic society once thrived on our planet that either rivaled or exceeded our modern achievements in science and space technology.
a sumerian observation of the köfels impact event: The Stones and the Stars Duncan Lunan, 2012-11-28 There are at least 48 identified prehistoric stone circles in Scotland. In truth, very little is known about the people who erected them, and ultimately about what the stone circles were for. Most stone circles are astronomically aligned, which has led to the modern debate about why the alignment was significant. The megaliths certainly represented an enormous co-operative effort, would at the very least have demonstrated power and wealth, and being set away from any dwellings probably served a ceremonial, or perhaps religious, purpose. Observations at the site of the stone circles, of solar, lunar, and stellar events, have already cast light on some of the questions about the construction and use of ancient megalithic observatories. In his capacity as manager of the Parks Department Astronomy Project, author Duncan Lunan designed and built the first astronomically aligned stone circle in Britain in over 3,000 years. 'The Stones and the Stars' examines the case for astronomical alignments of stone circles, and charts the development of a fascinating project with a strong scientific and historical background. The work was documented in detail by the artist and photographer Gavin Roberts, and this archive has been added to since - so an appropriate selection of illustrations will bring the project vividly to life.

a sumerian observation of the köfels impact event: If the Bible Is as Much Fable as Fact, Did God Create Man or Did Man Create God? Peter Seiler, 2015-07-10 If the Bible is as Much Fable as Fact, Did God Create Man or Did Man Create God? searches for a reasonable and reasoned foundation upon which to speak of the relationship between God and humanity. The author, Peter Seiler, marshals his education in both science and history in his exploration of the Bibles claims of faith, shedding the light of scientific findings and historical analysis on the biblical texts. Spanning ten parts, the text begins with an extended introduction to the author and his method before conducting a four-part examination of the history of faith from the ancient past through the Enlightenment. Then the author examines, in three parts, the case for the involvement of alien life in human history. Finally, he turns to the future before summarizing his conclusions. If the Bible is as Much Fable as Fact, Did God Create Man or Did Man Create God? will satisfy the hunger of readers who desire to shed the light of reason, bolstered by verifiable facts, upon the claims of faith. It also will intrigue people with deeply held beliefs who desire to know the yearnings of their friends and family members who find those same claims of faith on the far side of a chasm they cannot traverse by a leap of faith. In either case, If the Bible is as Much Fable as Fact, Did God Create Man or Did Man Create God? makes a powerful case for its perspective on the titles question.
a sumerian observation of the köfels impact event: Landscapes and Landforms of Austria Christine Embleton-Hamann, 2022-05-20 This book intends to identify and publicize the unique features of Austrian geomorphology. In a country, which stretches from the core of the European Alps to the Hungarian plain, there is huge variety of landforms and landscapes. This book reveals that variety. Part 1 sets the context of the Austrian landscape as a whole. Part 2 is the core of the volume and comprises a careful selection of the most outstanding landscapes in Austria. Each of the chapters results from detailed research conducted by an author over many years. Austria’s landscapes are especially attractive because of the great variety of topographic slopes, geologic foundations and the special landscape legacy from the Quaternary period. Glacial and Karst landscapes dominate, but there are superb examples of granite weathering landscapes and geologically recent volcanism. The book is lavishly illustrated with about 350 color images and is securely based on scientific scholarship.
a sumerian observation of the köfels impact event: Uriel's Machine Christopher Knight, Robert Lomas, 2000 * What is the standard view of history is completely wrong? * What if science and writing developed from an advanced prehistoric civilisation in the British Isles? * What is written evidence in the Dead Sea Scrolls records megalithic history and provides the plans for a machine that could rebuild civilisation following a global catastrophe? * And what if Jesus and his brother James were practitioners of megalithic astronomy? In URIEL'S MACHINE Knight & Lomas offer powerful new evidence that our planet was hit by seven mountain-sized lumps of comet, creating a series of giant waves that ripped across the globe. Putting together the latest findings of leading geologists with their own sensational new archaeological discoveries, they show how a civilisation emerged and was able to build an international network of sophisticated astronomical observatories which provided accurate calendars, could measure the diameter of the planet and accurately predict comet impact years in advance. The revelation that this is the true purpose of the great megalithic sites in Western Europe, built long before the Egyptian pyramids.

a sumerian observation of the köfels impact event: Bond Rob Mundle, 2015-08-01 Every Australian has formed their own opinion of Alan Bond, the high-flyer who stayed to face the music. Bond, the autobiography, is his chance to tell it how it really was. In Alan Bond's long-awaited autobiography, Bond, written with bestselling author Rob Mundle, the famous Australian answers his critics and reflects on his mistakes as well as the outside influences that were working to bring him down. He deals with family tragedies, including the death of his daughter Susanne, and gives his own engaging account of how he went from working-class signwriter to national hero to jail inmate. There are the first tentative forays into property development in the Perth suburbs while his family lived in a garage; the America's Cup win that stopped the nation; his part in the creation of the Australian icon, the Boxing Kangaroo; his bankruptcy, trials, and his imprisonment for over three-and-a-half years, as well as the subsequent rebuilding of his life. Along the way Alan Bond provides a telling snapshot of how business was done in the 1980s; of how the normal caution of banks and corporate leaders was tossed aside at the first smell of success and profits. Bond tackles the myths and rumours that have developed around this former Australian of the Year. He concedes he has made mistakes personally and professionally. Here he talks about where he went wrong and why he fell so far. In 2015, aged seventy-seven, Alan Bond died after complications from open-heart surgery.

a sumerian observation of the köfels impact event: Secrets of the Lost Races Rene Noorbergen, 2001 An increasing number of historical and archaeological finds made around the world have been classified as out-of-place artifacts (ooparts). They have been called this because they appear unexpectedly among the ruins of the past with no evidence of a preceding period of development; their technological sophistication seems far beyond the capabilities of ancient peoples.Drawing on the literature and art of the Chaldeans, Sumerians, Babylonians and others, Rene Noorbergen's contention is that a superior race of man was responsible for these scientific marvels that bear testimony to a civilization with technology comparable to our own.

a sumerian observation of the köfels impact event: Vymaanika Shaastra Maharishi Bharadwaaja, 2017-11-24 Just like the Nazi UFO's, the Vedic flying machines dwell somewhere in the realms between apocryphal technology and the occult. The work 'Vymaanika Shaastra' has been ascribed to the sage Maharshi Bharadwaja. Maharshi Bharadwaja is known to be a scholar both in science, philosophy, cosmology and warfare. The work on ancient Vedic flying machines was channelled by Pundit Anekal Subbaraya Shastry to a Sanskrit scholar, Sri G Venkatachala Sharma and translated into English by G.R. Josyer. The Vedic flying machines were supposed to be capable of the same flight manoeuvres as Hitlers' flying saucers (VRIL Rundflugscheiben). The 102nd Indian Science Congress, held at the Mumbai University in January 2015, organised a session on ancient sciences through Sanskrit in which a presentation on Vaimānika Śāstra was included. It was delivered by Anand J. Bodas, a pilot, and Ameya Jadhav, who holds an M.A. in Sanskrit as well as an M.Tech. degree. Bodas, speaking to the news media, has said that the aeroplanes of Vedic times could fly not only from country to country, but also from planet to planet. In those days, aeroplanes were huge in size, and could move left, right, as well as backwards, unlike modern planes which only fly forward, he added. NASA was not amused with this Congress...   a sumerian observation of the köfels impact event: Storia mondiale dell'Italia Andrea Giardina, 2017-11-16T00:00:00+01:00 Un racconto fatto di tanti racconti che ci parlano della mobilità degli uomini e delle cose, nello spazio e nel tempo.
a sumerian observation of the köfels impact event: The Exodus Richard Elliott Friedman, 2017-09-12 The Exodus has become a core tradition of Western civilization. Millions read it, retell it, and celebrate it. But did it happen? Biblical scholars, Egyptologists, archaeologists, historians, literary scholars, anthropologists, and filmmakers are drawn to it. Unable to find physical evidence until now, many archaeologists and scholars claim this mass migration is just a story, not history. Others oppose this conclusion, defending the biblical account. Like a detective on an intricate case no one has yet solved, pioneering Bible scholar and bestselling author of Who Wrote the Bible? Richard Elliott Friedman cuts through the noise — the serious studies and the wild theories — merging new findings with new insight. From a spectrum of disciplines, state-of-the-art archeological breakthroughs, and fresh discoveries within scripture, he brings real evidence of a historical basis for the exodus — the history behind the story. The biblical account of millions fleeing Egypt may be an exaggeration, but the exodus itself is not a myth. Friedman does not stop there. Known for his ability to make Bible scholarship accessible to readers, Friedman proceeds to reveal how much is at stake when we explore the historicity of the exodus. The implications, he writes, are monumental. We learn that it became the starting-point of the formation of monotheism, the defining concept of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Moreover, we learn that it precipitated the foundational ethic of loving one’s neighbors — including strangers — as oneself. He concludes, the actual exodus was the cradle of global values of compassion and equal rights today.
a sumerian observation of the köfels impact event: The Heavenly Writing Francesca Rochberg, 2004-09-27 In antiquity, the expertise of the Babylonians in matters of the heavens was legendary and the roots of both western astronomy and astrology are traceable in cuneiform tablets going back to the second and first millennia BC. The Heavenly Writing, first publsiehd in 2004, discusses the place of Babylonian celestial divination, horoscopy, and astronomy in Mesopotamian intellectual culture. Focusing chiefly on celestial divination and horoscopes, it traces the emergence of personal astrology from the tradition of celestial divination and the use of astronomical methods in horoscopes. It further takes up the historiographical and philosophical issue of the nature of these Mesopotamian 'celestial sciences' by examining elements traditionally of concern to the philosophy of science, without sacrificing the ancient methods, goals, and interests to a modern image of science. This book will be of particular interest to those concerned with the early history of science.

a sumerian observation of the köfels impact event: Black Holes and Galaxy Formation Adonis D. Wachter, Raphael J. Propst, 2010 Galaxies are the basic unit of cosmology. The study of galaxy formation is concerned with the processes that formed a heterogeneous universe from a homogeneous beginning. The physics of galaxy formation is complicated because it deals with the dynamics of stars, thermodynamics of gas and energy production of stars. A black hole is a massive object whose gravitational field is so intense that it prevents any form of matter or radiation to escape. It is hypothesised that the most massive galaxies in the universe -- elliptical galaxies -- grow simultaneously with the supermassive black holes at their centres, giving us much stronger evidence that black holes control galaxy formation. This book reviews new evidence in the field.
